I understand as a fighter you want to make the most of your money but don't sell your soul for it, remain strong minded and don't let the money affect the job, Mosley is THE fight for Tony besides Cotto and they both have already established that Cotto-Margarito II will happen next June leaving MORE THAN ENOUGH time for Margarito to face the only other threat to him besides Joshua Clottey whom wont present as much of a financial benefit yet twice the risk. Tony is being stupid here, he should take 2,250,000 and let Shane get 1,750,000. that's fair, he's champion but Shane is a house hold name, Margarito beat Cotto and Cintron but who else? I'm talking about relevant Welterweight fighters, who Clottey? we all saw what happened there. regardless Margarito's head is blowing up, he needs to take this fight and add Shane's name to his record, he can use this fight to sky rocket himself if he can KO Shane, Shane got a rep for being tough so if he could've done it he would get ultimate respect. they should just be men and come to an agreement your scenario is reasonable but in general it is a very poor move that Margarito/his management have made. Even if the fight would have been a as close as Cotto vs Mosley as long as he walked away with a win he would have been sitting pretty for Cotto next Summer. Pathetic.

According to a Mexican newspaper Margarito wants $3 millions which it would be 75-25. What do you guys think? "The HBO offer was very good, but my fighter wants 3 millions to fight Mosley." Margarito doesn't want to fight then.

Who cares. He's a moron who is awaiting a fight that may not happen in Cotto. Alot of scenarios can happen in the meantime of them setting up a rematch. I honestly don't care anyway, the guy is talented but is acting like a moron. Fight the fights that can be made and stop acting like a hypocrit.

There is no way he should be making 75%...granted at this stage mosley is pretty much fighting on his name (he still has talent/skill) but he's out of his prime...i think the best margarito can get from mosley is a 65%-35%...and thats probably only if mosley is allowed to choose the venue, ring size, etc. 75% is way too much to ask out of someone like a shane mosley... if this were a gary lockett then he could get 75% since someone like a gary lockett would need margarito more than margarito needs him... mosley doesnt need margarito...mosley's legacy is secure as far as im concerned... margarito needs to be going after a williams and/or cotto rematch in my opinion...

If true, he's getting way too big for his boots now. Guy lost to Williams, just recently beat Cotto, is now super champ and pricing himself out of fights and denying others. He's starting to piss me off.
