Will Brian Vera beat James Kirkland???

I think he has a good chance.... I havent jumped on the Kirkland Wagon until he finally steps up, instead of fighting no names and Angulo leftovers (Ricardo Cortes). Vera is bigger and has felt power at 168, he is taller and with a longer reach. He showed in the Andy lee fight he can take a punch and still keep coming foward throwing Hard shots. Andy lee made it hard for vera to get inside working off the jab and throwing straight shots. Kirkland goes in throwing wild shots looking for a KO. Vera can punch and if he catches Kirkland throwing wreckless he would probably hurt him, just like we seen him hurt lots of times. It will be an intresting fight.. Im looking foward to that fight as much as the Main event. :boxing:

James Kirkland is a good fighter, Yes! but he has no Defense! He gets hit too much and a strong right hand from Brian Vera will put kirkland down n out. Vera will expose kirkland's wild way of fighting. Vera is Bigger N Stronger* Kirkland hasn't been tested bcuz hes fought of bunch of NOBODIES!! Vera will b a Good test for him* I say Vera K.O's kirkland:boxing:

I just don't see why everyone thinks he is just gonna crumple over and die the first time he gets hit hard. Kirkland hasnt been in with anyone who has power cept for Conyers who dropped him hard. All things being equal yeah I think Kirkland is gonna win, but he will probaly be a 5 to 7-1 favorite and I wouldnt feel so confident in puttin 700 bucks on him to win 100 when he hasnt fought more than 2 rounds in a long time and the guy he is fighting is 2 inches and 10 pounds bigger. I wasn't saying that because its unlikely, I was saying that because I would love an excuse to do that. I really like Brian Vera and I think his chances are good in this fight. Its a 50/50 matchup in my eyes.

vera is definitely a good fighter. the kid is no joke. in this case though, i think kirkland just has the style and power to put vera away with relative ease. but i wouldn't go around knockin' vera. that kid can fight.

guys, i went to high school with Brian in Texas. He is one of the most natural athletes I have seen. sure he drops his hands, but he has a solid chin as was shown in the andy lee fight. Kirkland is a good fighter, but Brian is bigger, stronger, and has a longer reach. Vera TKO in round 5.

I guess that I'll just have to be pretty stupid in this one then. p.s. come talk to me about this after the fight Brain Vera is a hell of a lot better than Allen Conyers, who dropped Kirkland hard. Just making a damn point. I love how great people are at picking 7-1 favorites to win around here.

i think vera gets stopped very early if the ref is your usual vegas homo ref....... it will be very interesting to see what happens if this goes to the later rounds...

Vera wont have to adjust to fighting a southpaw since his last fight was against one. Vera is essentially two weight classes bigger coming down for the fight. Ruling him out of this one would be pretty stupid.

Vera's got a good chin and good power. Problem for Vera he is very very easy to hit. Kirkland doesnt waste time, and though he may not be the most polished fighter, he very well could beat vera by the second round. Kirkland needs to get the job done early. I question his stamina and Vera is one of those guys who gets stronger as the fight goes on to the mid-late rounds. If Vera can survive the initial onslaught for the first couple rounds, he very well could pull off another big win over a prospect. But thats a huge if.

Ann Wolf makes Kirkland fight too tough for his own good. it seems like all he knows is fight, fight, fight. He just goes in there with the attitude of get this guy before he gets me. That will cost him. Angulo for example, would light that ass up. angulo is OVERRATED. He is regarded so highly because everyone see him as the next margarito. But truth is he is slow, lacks defense, and just wings shots. Soon as margarito loses his steam, so will angulo. that kid sergio martinez will light fire under angulo a$$.

this will be a difficult fight for kirkland, but i think he MAY pull it out. He comes in trying to brawl from the opening bell and he really doesnt have a style with him. vera is going to brawl with him. so i see this ending in a knockout.
