Brock Lesner is the betting favourite tonight with a record of 2-1 to beat the current UFC Heavyweight champ Randy Couture.
And you thought Boxings heavyweights were on a decline

No what's really funny is you feel so threatened by this sport that you feel the need to have to try discredit it at any given chance.
Also you guys have to keep in mind that MMA doesnt really use the whole "how many fights" math we have in boxing. A guy with less than ten fights can be a world class MMA fighter if he has the proper backround, and can put it together successfully. You never see people in MMA say "oh man that kid could be a world beater, we better bring him along really carefully" it doesnt work that way in MMA, not yet.
Although in Korea and Japan they are developing a good amatuer system for experience, overall that will be good for the sports future.
SO...Most Boxers have 200-300 Amaetuer fights and been Boxing for 20 years also but that doesn't mean after 3 pro fights they are ready to fight the champ. Maybe D Andrade should fight Pavlik in his next fight that would be his 2nd pro fight and with 200 amaeteur fights and an Olympian he should be ready right? This UFC fight is a JOKE!
Rarely does a guy go into the pros with 20 years boxing experience, but Ill bite.
I see what your saying, but you not taking into consideration the physicality of Brock Lesnar. The man is 280 pounds of purely functional muscle at 6 foot 3. Think about those proportions, and understand that being stalky can be good as a grappler. Remember, Randy is 45.
I could say the same thing about Valuev holding a major championship belt in boxing, the guy is complete garbage P4P but he is able to do amazing things with his size advantage.
Brock Lesnar is similar to MMA's version of Valuev, except he has skills and agility to go along with incredible size.
Eh.....
Brock Lesner is a 280 pound man who trained in wrestling, one of MMA's most important backround sports, at the highest level for 20 years. He then focused purely on learning the other aspects of MMA for over two years before taking his first fight. The man is a physical anomaly, and Randy Couture is a 45 year old man.
Let it go people. Please.

This just shows that MMA is lightyears behind Boxing as far as overall skill and training...Could you imagine if Boxing had a 43yr old fighter who has been out for 16 months face a guy that has a 2-1 pro record....HA,HA,HA, Boxing would be cruicified! Anyone who is paying for this fight is a FOOL!

UFC must be really desperate for good ratings sticking Lesnar in with Couture.
yup, I had a thread regarding this

you obviously don't follow MMA
All of the best heavyweights are in other organizations (Affliction, Dream, etc.)
Fedor Emelianenko, Andre Arlovski, Sergei Kharitonov, Ben Rothwell, Tim Sylvia, Josh Barnett, Aleksander Emelianenko, Mirko CroCop, etc....the list goes on and on and on.........
The best heavyweights are in different organizations.
only barnett arlovski and of course fedor are better than randy...
if brock wins he's top 4 instantly
crocop got beaten out of the ufc lol
tim sylvia is a bum...
and the rest of them are mediocre
probably cause everyone realizes that couture isnt all he is cracked up to be, he has had his ass handed to him a few times before, he isnt invincible, unlike fedor ;)
