Best boxing movie: Fat City. Red the book, never saw the film. I really like the character of Terry Malloy in On the Waterfront. He's a boxer but he's not just a boxer.

Again i don't think its a good character thats just basically who stallone is. I said he's been type cats but that would imply he had tallent ;o)

Gotta take Stallone from Rocky 1 I'm afraid. Wasn't a star, was inspired by a real boxing match, got seriously into shape and character, made it all happen himself. Very convincing character he's built and played out himself.
