I like Dawson, but he got kind exposed a little against Glen Johnson. Dawson still has alot to learn. What a fight it was...i'm watching it www.dailymotion.com right now for the second time.
LOL at your sig...betting on PPV numbers, never seen that one before. Good bet though, you should win that one.
:lol1: Wasn't my idea but it was a good bet to take.
Dawson has learned from that fight IMO, I believe him when he says he's become a better fighter because of that fight, and credit has to be given to Dawson for fighting Johnson who is still not getting the fights he wants and deserves.

Dawson got hit by Johnson's hardest shots and was never knocked down, Dawson would do better against Glen Johnson in a rematch,
I think so also, he did show alot of improvement against Tarver. I was just stating that it is Tarver he looked so good against. Not to much pressure coming from that guy.
I think the reason he looked better against Tarver was because of the opponent he had in front of him more then anything else. But thats just me.

he wasnt exsposed he was taught a lesson..better now than later..and he looked 100 percent better against tarver..the boy had his pen and pad and took notes

Glen Johnson is now available for Dawson since Diaconu postponed his fight with Silvio Branco (Diaconu and Johnson are suppose to fight in 2009). If Dawson can't get a fight with Calzaghe, the best opponents for Dawson are Glen Johnson and the IBF mandatory Tavoris Cloud.
Now Tavoris Cloud he's probably the hardest hitter in the LHW division, has a good left jab and a dangerous right hand, Cloud isn't your typical mandatory. It would be best for Dawson to fight Johnson first.
i think the only reason he sturggled is that he tried to bomb with johnson and wasted too much energy early....look at the first few rounds...he just used too much gas.....and i still think he won......rematch and he beats him easier IMO.....
Dawson just didn't know how to deal with a non-stop pressure fighter with a decent defense. It's very early on in his career he'll adapt and learn how to deal with them in time.
Yeah Dawson looked to have made some improvements, but i still feel Johnson's style would give Dawson trouble, Johnson has excellent body work which would help bring the guard down.
Yeah but I dont think Dawson would make the same mistake as allowing the fight to go too much on the inside - Fight the same fight he did against Tarver by not getting too involved in the toe to toe stuff, get in do his work and back out again.

thats a better way to put it.
Only a fool would take Johnson lightly, i just think it was more a clash of styles. I had it a draw it was a very good fight would love to see a rematch at some point.
or a young over confident fighter who doesn't think much of a grizzled vet.......
Glen johnson is the sort of guy who most prospect should fight at LHW before going on to bigger and better things.
Most people would fight johnson to be honest and even gary shaw wasnt too keen on the fight until he knew he wouldnt/couldnt get tarver in there with Dawson, Even now Johnson is a live opponent who is very dangerous.
Look at the improvement in his return fight against Tarver...
Most notable was his high guard straight after his punches in bunches and not sticking around on the inside after he'd finished his work...
Johnson shown Dawson several things and Dawson took notice during the lesson...

YEAH, he kinda did.and we saw the outcome of being ill pepared.in the tarver fight it was clear his stamina was better.IMO, he must have taken johnson lightly.against tarver he didn't make that mistake.
