Should I tip my hat to a guy who beats 30 journeymen because they were put in front of him?
you couldn't have beaten ANY of the "journeymen" put in front of joe. so yeah, you should...
I read what you wrote and I have a feeling you and I could go back and forth on this and neither of us will win or change the others opinion. So let's agree to disagree... I guess.
Fair enough.
It not all Joe's fault that he didn't get that big fight back in the day.

Regardless of the situation, it doesn't change that out of those 46 people, 44 were nobodies and the other two both have a foot in the retirement home.
You obviously didn't take all of my post in because if you read it, you'll see why Joe didn't get that major test when he should have.
When Joe was fighting here in the UK, no one wanted to come over and fight him, so he had to make do with madertories that WBO gave him. No one in America knew who he was and weren't interested in fighting a nobody worth no money! He was in a no win situation.

you dam right :fing02:..... so whats all the 46-0 hype for? I guess it looks and sounds good :lol1:
That's what it comes down to man. Look at my previous post, it was the same with Hatton, It's the same with Calzaghe. If he beat some light heavyweights who are in their prime, I'll gladly acknowledge that he deserves recognition for it.
Name me one fighter who hasn't fought at least 20+ so called 'Journeyman'?

Bottom line is he has beaten everyone his ever faced in a ring. FACT!

Joe Calzaghe will die undefeated, in a 100 years he will be undefeated and when the apocalypse hits us he will still be undefeated.
He deserves respect in the sport of boxing. I for one is giving it to him.
I never said I don't respect him. He's got a tremendous amount of skill and talent, but it's ridiculous to say that he's an all-time great when he was only put to the test in one fight against a lackluster Hopkins. Everyone was all over Ricky Hatton's nuts by calling him great, but that was right before he stepped up and got exposed by Mayweather. FACT!
And none of them are any good anymore. Should I tip my hat to a guy who beats 30 journeymen because they were put in front of him?
