I would like to Congratulate

Respect for being a good sportsmen Riz and all. This is unlike a lot of fights where the forums were mullered with bitter hatred and undermining of a win. Both camps were respectful and so have their fans been, on the whole I might add. Roy was in good shape and looked good in parts, I think better than some like to credit, like the knock down, upper cut and such. But Joe looked like the real LHW # 1 one on Saturday night and it's no shame on anyone losing to that. Respect all round.

Its like that feeling of your girl saying she dont wanna be with you anymore back in High School.. Sigh... I will miss the hell out of Roy tho.. Hes had a HOF career. I love this guys style.. there will never be another roy with all that flashyness IN the ring, the showboating, the untouchable speed and reflexs and power.. he had it all i was thinking the same thing, how it felt similar to breaking up with a chick back in HS. Joe does deserve SOME credit for the win, but that was an aged, faded Roy Jones whos legs, reflexes are DEAD Joe beat a far past his prime 40 year old Jones, who hadnt beat a top fighter in 5 years. the version of Roy that Joe beat struggled with Hanshaw... the last thing to go out on a fighter is his power, Roys power has been fading for the last couple of years...

I'm to bitter to congratulate the man, but I do respect that win unlike a lotta other Roy fans.

I too may have been guilty of not giving Joe is due props in the past. The guy has said some things that offended me, and I generally hate his fighting style, but that doesnt mean the man isnt a DAMN good fighter. Props Joe, HOF career.

Roy is done. He looked good early.. Landed some shots.. Not to many, but shots that were clean. He fights in spurts... Biggest mistake was him letting Joe tee off on him. Doing that racked up many points for Joe in a round and that Body work was great. He found Joe in the first round, but after that couldn't do it no more. Calzaghe comes back and wins the fight... Just like in the B-Hop fight (Even thought I thought the nod should have went to Hopkins for clean punches) Roy Jones should hang em up IMO. Whos gonna fight him? I don't know if B-Hop does, and we know Calzaghe is done, and doesn't want to fight Hopkins. Maybe Hopkins can fight Dawson? I would love to see that.

yea it was a sad day... once Jones speed started slowing down he couldnt really land flush on Joe, I noticed in his bout against Hanshaw that his legs had really slowed up, and I noticed in the Trinidad bout that his power was decreasing.. we all knew that Roy was no longer the Roy of old when he got dominated against Glen Johnson... Im just happy that he wasnt in the ring with a big puncher last night who couldve really hurt him like Glen did in '04

That was like when Tyson in the lewis fight said something like I havent got it anymore or something to that effect.. I must of ran out of the room in fear of crying in front of the lads eyewater brewing ready to roll down my face Thats when you know its over init 4sure LOL yeah man. I think I would've teared up if Jones would've gotten stopped. Straight up.

Good post. Compared to some of the other stuff we've seen here where people still discredit Calzaghe, this is gold.
