I would choose Jones most by UD decision or 5 to 6 round Knockout.
But what do you guys think.
Jones last night I would rate 2/10 of what he was in his prime. He should retire now. Good win for Joe, but doesn't really do anything for his legacy besides adding a big name to his resume.
joe by knockout. sure he couldn't knockout a shot 40 year old jones but prime joe had mythical punching power and would knock jones out cold.
lmao. joking right?
Jones, late KO.
His speed, power, skills school Joe.
you want to know why Joe is still fresh at 37? Cause before Lacy he has just fought bum after bum who had no chance to beat him or hurt him so he's been babied thats why he's "fresh" still.
Jones in a tough close fight. A guy who throws a thousand punches in 12 rounds, with good reflexes/speed/skill doesn’t get dominated,he's troublesome, Calzaghe would be competitive against anyone within weight range in any era.
Well, 50% already voted Jones KO. We wouldn't have even seen that before this fight, people are clearly voting with emotions not heads. The complete ignorance, bias of it just pisses me off, clearly we can't rely on polls on here much anymore when 50% vote Roy knocking out a tough chinned Calzaghe when he couldn't KO lesser opponents with weaker chins.
Apparently there's a discount on nooses on ebay this week little fella's. Dig in.
Much respect to you and objective guys whom can vote with their well informed heads, not their hearts.
Yeah I dunno, what are you gonna say? These guys are mostly fukwits.
Jones wins a hard fought competitive decision. But he doesn't stop Calslappy, not no way not no how.
Some clown said "easy knockout by the sixth". That is just ridiculous. Someone else said thay it would be like the Clinton Woods fight, which is odd. What exactly do Woods and Calzaghe share apart from the same country of birth? OK I'm going to play that game too: It would be just like the Calzaghe - Tocker Pudwill fight. Hey Pudwill and Jones are both yanks!
LOL, its rare to see you this angry.
I agree though, on the balance of probabilities, Roy does not stop Joe. That is why I voted Roy UD.

Roy by knockout. Fu cking idiots. Roy couldn't knock out lesser competition. He'd hardly KO a tough chinned Calzaghe.
Polls a meaningless joke already.

Roy Jones wins by SD, but really struggles with Joe. I think Roy might win the early rounds but Joe would come on in the later rounds but Roy builds a lead so that he pulls out a SD

I don't know, but I think Calzaghe is more in prime in his later years. So, I think if I'm right. Probably Roy by decision... Sorry Joe... Too hard to call
Joe Calzaghe IS three years younger than Roy Jone Jnr not thirteen years younger. Last night, despite being only three years younger and ALSO past HIS prime, Calzaghe proved himself to be one hard fast SOB. In HIS prime, before bad hand injuries, he would have hit harder too, and also would have been faster. Do i think Joe v RJJ both in their prime would be a walkover for either boxer, NO.
No one knows, and Roy had the chance to fight Joe years ago, and ducked.
We will never know, but you RJJ fellas seem to think its a forgone conclusion.
hmmm
How do we know Jones ducked Calzaghe though? Was Calzaghe even a name years back, enough for anyone in the U.S to even know who he was? Jones has been knocked out twice too, I think it's pretty clear to say he was out of his prime. I think a lot of us overestimated his win against Trinidad too.
I got Jones by UD, he was much faster with upper body & lower body movement. He could throw some seriously quick and sharp combination too, all of them with power. Calzaghe would still give him some trouble because of his awkward style and constant punching, but in the end I think Jones beats him.
