Who does Roy Jones think he is, trying to showboat against Calzaghe like that. Leave that to fighters that have something to showboat about Roy.
You were lucky to share a ring with a legend like Calzaghe show some respect.
I knew at some point they would have a showboating contest.......but they both looked like clowns. They both failed to out shine B-Hop on the night he crippled Pavlik and the whole Youngstown's hopes. B-Hop was stylin' with class......Roy and Joe was ass.
It is usually okay, but Joe was doing it a bit too much last night.
I thought Joe took his foot off the gas pedal after the cut and allowed Roy the dignity of going the distance. He could have stopped him if he went after it more. Calzaghe earned the right to showboat.
The best showboating I ever saw was the counter-showboating Clinton Woods done against Jones.
lol
Yeah that was really disrespectful from Woods..........lmao, I laugh everytime i watch that fight over and over again.
I havent seen the fight but i guess it payback for all the way Jones have taunt his lesser-talented opponents...There was never any need for it in the ring but roy alway do it even when his opponents were hurt, Now he is on the other side and who would have felt how is past victims felt.
Showboating against a shot Roy Jones isn't conducive to who Joe Calzaghe is!
He says he has huge respect for Roy but he was trying to make a fool out of him in the ring in a fight he was winning comfortably. That ain't respect and anyone who disagrees with that can lick my nine!
yes
because it was like clowning your pops playing one on one ball when he cant guard you...you get no points for that..
now if joe dominates and clowns dawson...then joe is the real deal and can retire with the stripes and bars of an atg and say he beat everyone
Jones built a career or doing that sort of stuff to far lesser opposition. Calzaghe's showboating may be a little fruity but I've noticed that he actually does a good job of gaining the psychological edge against his opponents, including Hopkins, by being this nerdy white guy who doesn't have an imposing physique but who simply doesn't get intimidated.
Good point

I actually find JC's tauntings much annoying.
