why is he always getting dropped...i think he needs to fight a rematch with hopkins... but i give him a hell of alot of credit for beating roy...and now lacy can hold his head up a little higher joes the real deal
Canvass Joe would be schooled by Hopkins.
Of course he would, because if they fight again Hopkins wont hide, hold, cry, fake, headbutt and generally act the cu**.
Hopkins deliberately hid from Joe and threw the fight to line up a rematch! How clever is he?
Wow, Hopkins to take joe to school, AGAIN!!!
you twunt!
I think he gets knocked down early because he takes so many chances. He puts himself into some very risky situations. It dangerous to do against a fresh fighter in the first couple of rounds, but I think Joe does it because he wants to scare the opponent with extremely hard pace. Unfortunatly he is the one being shocked if you look towards his last two fights.
Do you guys think he will fight Dawson? Because it didn't sound like a speech of retirement from what I heard. And Max Kellerman brought up Dawson as the only one left. This is a chance for Joe to become much more appriciated in America - Will he pass out on this chance against an unexperienced fighter? Can he win?
Because he gets hit quite a lot...and sometimes by good shots. He doesnt have incredible balance, he does have an impressive chin, the most impressive thing is how quickly he clears he his and gets back into the fight though. 4 times down, probably hasnt been down for the ten count for them all combined and at least 3 of those were solid knockdowns.
I think it looks pretty hard you can see the impact causing an impact through Calzaghe's whole neck. It was awkward as ****.
I think Roy waited too long at times, and when he did open up he got punished, unlike Hopkins who to me a massive Calzaghe fan actually got the better of the exchanges a lot of the time. Roy still landed some beautiful counters none the less.
Joe Calzaghe beat Hopkins for me on workrate, but Hopkins looked like the better fighter that night. Joe does still have something to prove there if he wants it, it's the only possible fight he could take,
Great post, you've earned my respect for telling it like it is. Green K given. Respect.
I don't think the Jones forearm was really that hard of a shot. Joe has a wide base and was leaning into it, which made it worse.
Kind of like what Hopkins did to him only Hopkins landed and Roy didn't.
Roy was trying to be Bernard in that first round, anyone else catch that? Putting his back on the rope, trying to catch him coming in with the straight right?

I had a feelin somebody would go down early on this fight, but not in the 1st ****in rd. That was some hot shit and I thought Roy just might finish him, but Joe did what he had to do. Beyond the KD, Roy didn't put much damage on him the rest of the way.
The shot Jones caught him with was a bit of a fluke, the first punch was nice but the punch that put him down was a forearm smash that he didn't see.
That shit would have knocked a fair few fighters the **** out. Real talk. Watch the replay of that punch, Joe Calzaghe for all intensive purposes was 'out'.
Nard nailed him with a nice sneaky right hand but it was a flash knockdown.

That shit would have knocked a fair few fighters the f.uck out. Real talk. Watch the replay of that punch, Joe Calzaghe for all intensive purposes was 'out' when he was going down. It looks like a KO has just happened. I shat myself, lol

The reason he gets dropped is directly related to his shitty fighting stance. he keeps his legs too far apart, and his balance is naturally awkward so whenever he catches one he's not prepared for down the pipe, he hits the deck.
You think he would've learned his lesson against Bernard, but I imagine it's hard to switch up the way you fight, even small adjustments, when you've been fighting as long as Joe.
The rematch with Hopkins is the only fight out there.
I want Hopkins to start making some noises. Joe will fight him again.
Chad Dawson offers no real star power as far as selling 70,000 tickets stadium in Cardiff is . Hopkins left an impression, people don't like him.
Hopkins is also a great fight promoter, unlike Joe.
