Roy talking about Obama's win and the struggles of the past for black people was the best part. I didn't think much of the Calzaghe stuff, especially Enzo's parts.
To be honest the series has been as good as I was hoping. I don't think Calzaghe has that much of an interesting life, and he's not a great talker. I thought the footage of him training was goof though. Roy's stuff with his dad was interesting, seeing his camp was cool, and I liked his interviews.
It was good in parts, but a lot of it wasn't that great IMO.
This is exactly how I saw it as well.
I liked what Jones had to say about Obama, but his suggesting it's going to will him to win on Saturday night was the same ol' same ol', just with a new twist. He said as much in 2005 - and with the same passion, believe it or not - in referencing a Brett Favre interview on Sportscenter, save for the race angle.
The series as a whole - eh. Visually stunning, as are most HBO productions, but their hands were tied with the personalities they had to work with.
For the same reasons, I'm not expecting much out of Pac-DLH 24/7.
calzaghe is the same, roy showed the passion and determination everybody was questioning. he said calzaghe gonna have to kill him to defeat him.
i stood up when he said that shit LOL
i thought the second episode was the best one, the third was ok.
not as good as the hatton mayweather series, in fact nowhere near.
