Vernon Forrest, Charley Burley, Mike Mccalum, Paul Spadafora, Stevie Johnson, Julian Jackson, Bennie Brisco, Juan carlos Gomez and Michael Nunn come to mind
No but i mean when the world stops, and people who dont really watch boxing talk about it, hagler/learnard Ali/Fraizer Ali/Foreman Mayweather/De la Hoya Holmes/Cooney Vargas/De la Hoya Trinidad/De la Hoya Demsey/Tunney Jack Johnson/Jeffieries Duran/Learnard them type of fights
Even these vary greatly though. Vargas vs Hoya was nothing compared to Ali vs Foreman and in terms of a Super-fight the latter outweighs the former vastly. Ali vs Foreman was a true super-fight. Hoya and Vargas was a big fight in boxing, but it wasn't that big a mainstream fight.

Eh? McCallum got a number of huge fights. He was a big superstar and fought all the major players. Jones Jr, Toney, Jackson, Curry etc. He had lots of super-fights. Jackson also had quite a few. McClellan and the aforementioned McCallum as well as Norris.
Johnston fought Castillo in a big fight in their rematch. Forrest's fights with Mosley and his rematch with Mayorga were both very big fights. Though it is hard to say what type of super-fight you mean.
Briscoe was never really big enough himself to have an actual super-fight as such, though he had some pretty big fights for the times and for how popular he was. His fight with Monzon was massive
and a super-fight in Argentina, but maybe not overall. This is why it's hard to define an actual super-fight.
Again, while Michael Nunn didn't have a Toney/Jones super-fight per se he still definitely had some very big fights that were super-fights for his popularity. Big fights against Barkley, Starling, Curry, and Toney.
These guys were in very big fights for their time and their respective divisions. I think the Super-fights you're talking about are actually very, very rare. It depends what you consider a super-fight. If you're talking about the true Super-fight then there are a hell of a lot of great, great fighters that haven't had one. If you're talking about the biggest fights anf most important and ones that are very big in certain circles then quite a few of those guys have had them.
A real Super-fight is something like Duran vs Leonard or Hearns vs Hagler, Ali vs Frazier etc. You could even say that Jones vs Toney wasn't a super-fight, but, in boxing circles in definitely was, just as the Toney vs Nunn was a smaller version because it was a big fight in Nunn's career and a huge fight in his hometown.
Anyway, some of those guys have definitely been in massive fights especially McCallum and Jackson.
monzon/brisco was not a superfight and spadafora and johnson are great fighters you dont know what your talking about
You have no idea what great means. Tell me what fight made Spadafora great? His gift draw against Dorin? He never fought anyone who will get one vote for the HOF. Johnston (not Johnson) was a very good lightweight, but nobody in boxing thinks he was great. Monzon-Briscoe was a huge fight. You just don't realize it because it was before you were born and in a foreign country.
juan carlos gomes the cuban.....
i dont think he had what it take for a super fights he got ko'd once by this tune up fight in telefortura
i rmemebrr cause he came out dancin and shit and he got KO'D by some ugly right hands
I know what you're saying here, but he did fight Holman, Williams Ezzard Charles and Archie Moore. None fit the definition of the word superfight for the purpose of this thread, but all were what I would consider matchups on the superfight level.
He fought great fighters and was a great fighter himself but none of his feats were acknowledged at the time. Only one of his many fights was filmed and he was never given a title shot (which I'm sure you already know).
A WW title fight against Robinson would've been a super fight.
Unfortunately Holman Williams was another underrated fighter of the era while Moore and Charles were both young and unknown at the time they fought Burley.
Not big fights when they happened but on hindsight, yes.
monzon/brisco was not a superfight and spadafora and johnson are great fighters you dont know what your talking about
They are not. Maybe you use the term 'great' differently than most people do.
What bigger fight was there for Briscoe except a title shot against Monzon?
I would consider McCallum vs Curry and Toney super fights.
Calling Spadafora and Johnston great fighters is rather dubious. Briscoe got a big fight against Monzon in Argentina.

A superfight in my mind has nothing to do with commercial aspect.
Castillo-Corrales had an attendence of less then 5 thousand. It all about the fighters to me, if the fighters are super, then its a super fight, but I see where u are coming from tho

Yes and both fights were not on pay per view and were in small arena's.

For a bit of an older touch, Archie Moore was granted a title shot 10 years after he earned it. He had some big name fights, but there could have been better fights for him.
Vernon Forrest fought Mosley twice

When he met Marciano the fight was huge, a super fight back then
