I'm sick of seeing Andre Dirrel picking apart nobodies. And then you have Andre Ward doing the same on the other side.
Somebody match these two up and lets see who the real deal from the olympics is. If not that, lets see either one of them get tested against ALLAN GREEN. I'm pretty sure one of the two cannot beat Green. Which one is it?
All I know is, I can't stand Dirrel ever since his perormance against Curtis Stevens, and I still feel the same way. Guy looks very immature, like he is about to break out dancing Cory Spinks entrance style but doesn't because he knows the Booooo's!!!! will break out from the audience.
He has all the tools to be force in the very near future. He has only about 18 or so fights. I'd think that they would bring him along. You can't throw guys into the ring who are still up and coming. Look what happened to Vargas. He was never ready to fight Trinidad. And as a consequence was ruined from that fight.
Yeah he only has 17 fights but it's not like he fought 17 bums. Dirrell's last three opponents were solid C level fighters. One more win against a solid opponent and he's ready for Inkin.
Yeah, but you still said he's boring, hence you might of well have called him spinks.
But seriously, I like how you completely disregarded my other point. Direll dispatched of Hanshaw a lot easier then Jones did, but yet according to you Hanshaw was a nobody. If Hanshaw was a nobody then really who has Roy Jones proved himself against an elite fighter like Calzaghe at the age of 39? Felix Trinidad?
I give Roy Jones no credit for beating Hanshaw. This is the same guy who had a draw in a elimination tournament on Shobox against a nobody out of france.
Anyway, I'm not gonna go into Dirrell's record. He is doing what most up and comers do, I just don't like him for personal reasons.
And watching the two Andre's both coming up at 168 - same weight class, is what made me create this thread. Feels like the Klitschko brothers avoiding each other except they aint Bros.

Well considering Direll KOd Hanshaw when Jones couldn't even do it, I'm pretty sure he's not spinks and that is mostly Roy Jones claim back to fame besides beating Trinidad, and so I'm pretty sure Direll is good.
He's a lot more exciting then Spinks for sure too.
I clearly said Spinks's entrance, NOT Spink's in-ring boxing abilities.:smashfrea
Was checking out the WBO's ratings and Green is ranked 8 behind 7, Andre Direll.
Direll probably went up to 4. And Ward is #4 now, so they would be 3 and 4. #1 is a nobody. #2 is Jermain Taylor I think and so he's fighting for a WBC eliminator.
So Ward vs Direll or Direll vs Green could happen.

good point. lets get dirrell vs ward in early 2009. winner gets the winner of bute-kessler (aka kessler) or taylor-froch....
direll is my least favorite fighter .. anytime hes takes a clean punch the mother ****er runs like the winddd ..makes mayweather look like mayorga ...bad stoppage too .. i see that guy comin on loater in that fight 2 hurt direll
Dirrell is nothing special, he is just another Allan Green.
Dirrell would be a perfect comeback opponent for Edison Miranda....Miranda/Dirrell would be a replay of Miranda/Green....Dirrell would run like a bitch from Miranda the whole fight until he runs out of gas and gets caught and KO'd
Bullshit, if Abraham with his limited boxing skills managed to Ko Miranda, so can Dirrel who can turn to southpaw or orthodox at any time. And he looks like he puts everything into his shots.
Miranda gets ko'd in that one and Green would beat him too in a rematch. Green had health problems at that time, but of course you ignored that part.
Dirrell has incredible handspeed for a 168 pounder. I'm just still not sold on his durability. He looks and acts like a fighter who cant take sustained punishment. Against better fighters, he's going to have to show grit.

Dude, wtf happened to Cristian tonight? I am devestated.

Pretty good fighter my ass. The Ko record doesn't mean anything.
He picked that guy 2 fights too late. After seeing his get exposed first.
If anything, he should've fought the guy who KO'd Oganov and gave him his first loss.
Oganov isn't as good of a fighter as Anthony Hanshaw, who Dirrell beat earlier this year.
i like Dirrell... the fight with Stevens i could of done without but i still like em
i dont think Ward has fought in a while.. believe he's recovering from an injury
Compare some of the greats after 16 fights and 28-1 with 28 ko's doesnt sound that bad. It doesn't matter, he has a championship fight next time around.
Yes 28 with 28kos doesn't look bad on paper. But they knew that the guy had no offense after he got exposed on Shobox in his previous loss.
Would they have fought him prior to that, when they knew nothing about him? I don't think so.
Anyway I'm just venting. Alot of talent at 168. Two unbeaten title holders. Lets have these guys fighter each other unstead of padding their records.
The guy Dirrell just beat is a pretty good fighter. The next fight should be for a belt since it was an elimination match.
