To me, his camp seems full of overweight joksters. I don't see anyone there who can give Roy the tough workouts he needs.
I hope he is bringing in some proper sparring partners !
Any training that you see on camera isn't going to be same as the training that happens off camera. You can't let everyone see your preparations.
I ain't worried about Roy!

maybe that's why he's so confident cause he beating up a bunch of fatasses in sparring.

its just his friends.. remember cottos training camp? he had all his buddies there, for all his camps
It always can be doubt if the 24/7 video shows the real szene.
Joe doesn't looked like he trains any defense at all and Roy mostly fought with his old style.
it doesn't have to be taken as a negative . . . i was just surprised. he does look loose, ready and like he's having a good time. i think hes gonna give joe a real hard time in the ring.
The guy trains for hours everyday. We seen a short 30 minute show that showed a few inside his camp clips. To try and draw conclusions from that would be redundous. Roy Jones is a pro and knows what hes doing and im sure his trainers and team as well.
A guy cant joke around with his friends when hes done or before training? Are boxers supposed to be serious 24/7?
Narr, its all good. Roy said he needs the training to be fun and not work to bring out the best in him. in the next 2 episodes i think you'l see him more serious
you can have fun but you still need to work hard
Now more than ever in his career, Roy's conditioning has to be A1. it has to be. He knows Joe has a high workrate, he knows he has to be able to punch for 12 rounds and not take breaks
That 3rd fight with Tarver, he was able to dominate Tarver but only for limited periods of time, not the whole fight.
Honestly, i'd love to see Roy bring in someone like Forrest Griffin to help with conditioning. Forrest has 1/100 of the talent of Roy but got to where he is today through hard work, especially with regard to conditioning
Roy will be ready come fight night:boxing:I think in the next episodes we'll see Roy slowly transform into fight mode and become more serious......Roy has to be havin' fun in order to perform at his best.........so REALLY the thread should be askin' Joe's peeps if they're worried.:lol1:because Roy looks like he's havin' a ball.
exactly.

maybe he looked to be training hard . . . but his team didnt really look all that inspiring to me, or even credible. but hes been with them a long time according to the 24/7 so i am sure he knows what hes doing. but i was surprised to say the least with how unprofessional the whole thing looked.
Roy is 39 he is a ATG and a future Hall Of Famer regardless of this fight. he is having fun at what he loves doing. He looked hungry and loose. He will be ready.
Maybe the reason it looks like light hearted is because thats what Roy likes. I remember one time(I think around the Glen Johnson fight), Coach Merk said that training was becoming like a job for Roy. Coach Merk said that when Roy was younger it was fun to train, maybe Roy needs to have some fun or otherwise its boring to him. Roy said in an interview from this year that hes a happy fighter again, and it has shown in his recent fights. If Roy comes to a fight all buisness, I don't think he likes it.
As i said b4. Roy doesnt seem to be taking this fight as serious as he should. Especially after that remark he made about "if i lose, so what" And wtf is up with his training crew being on the undercard? Who the hell are those guys?
