My man was robbed and I was among the few calling him to win. It will take a while for me to get over it. I know the IBF could call this a NC if they wanted, but could they give Andrade the belt?
cmon man be honest with urself. if it was the other was around would you stillstick to yer comments???.. ..bute was up in 9, so andrade had at least 15 more seconds to club a guy that was out on his feet.. christ you saw him stagger to his corner at the bell.. the ref was a thief and stole the fight -plain and simple....
as soon as the fighter hits the canvas the count starts, and by that measure, there is no way bute beats the count, he gets up at 10, he doesn't beat it, but as he sits in the corner and the count not only starts late, but gets interupted by the ref, THEN to start on a number that he already picked up the count on (6) he counts 6 after he already counted 6 then the next number he says is 9!!!!! but in real time 20+ seconds have lapsed and within that 20+ seconds, in real time, and with a unbiased ref, bute would've been counted out...................
and you know that bute got a HUGE HOMETOWN GIFT, and that he will not take a rematch, not unless forced to............
and when is bute gonna fight outside of his over protective hometown???? at this stage in his career? now he's champ.....
When Bute is knocked down, the ref doesn't start to count immediately (he asks Andrade to go to a neutral corner). But that is absolutely normal, and that is the reason why a timekeeper ALWAYS starts the count, then the ref continues it. So when the ref starts the count ( I think at 4) Bute is still down, looking at his corner with an arm on a rope. When the ref count 6 (the first time, I mean...) Bute is already getting up, and that is before the ref turns to Andrade to ask him to return to his corner. So Bute is standing, leaning on a rope, between 6 and the supposed 7. Then he turns to face the ref (who is now talking to Andrade). The French PPV made a real time count, and Bute was up on time. I agree that the ref made a BIG mistake by counting 6 twice though.
One thing I want to say is about the "over protective hometown". To be honest, I hate when people say that. There are so much american champs who haven't ever fought outside the US, why is that correct in their case than for the foreign boxers??? Why is a win more important if it has been done in the US than in Canada, the UK or anywhere else??? This is IMO a very egocentric point of view.
There are as much hometown decisions in a country than in another (as long as both have adequate legislation). In Bute's case, if there isn't a rematch, he will probably fight in europe in February/March.
This was the worst robbery I have seen in a long long time. They simply gave Bute break after break. Capped off with the cream of the crop of breaks.
Being a Canadian, I found it to be completely embarrassing. Andrade is a proud honest warrior who came here chasing his dream, captured it, then got it stolen from him.
Hang tough Andrade, your dream will come true!!
6. The bell will not save a boxer in any round of the bout. If a boxer is "downed" just before the 3-minute bell in any round, the referee's count shall continue and the bell will not ring until the boxer rises and his hands clear the floor.
wonder the Andrade fanboys keep ignoring that one... BTW, in a real count, Bute would've been up at 7 leaning on the ropes, and standing in front of the ref at 8, with his arm on a rope, not necessarily because he needed it but to make an easier recovery. Watch this again if you don't believe me. Moreover, as mentionned by the rule #6, he didn't even have to be ready to fight, because the round was over. To stand was enough.
Let's be clear: I want a rematch. But no rule have been broken, only the interpretation is subject to discussions. The referee is the one whose judgment matters. And that referee have been accepted by Andrade's clan.

IDK everything about the fight, but this is what boxrec says:
1. Bute dominated the fight until 12th round, KDed Andrade in 10th.
2. With 5 seconds left in the fight andrande sends Bute down.
3. Ref counts to six and tells Andrade to get back to his corner. Boxrec says Andrade appeared to be in his corner. The ref continued the count 24 seconds later and Bute was up.
Sounds like a robbery indeed. I understand the champion gets the nood in close fights, but this just looks like it should have been a KO.
But Boxrec don't say at what time Bute was up. He was up after what is said to be 24 seconds (I doubt it was that long...) but when did he got up?? Also, what does "in the corner" mean??? It is all interpretation
IMO, it is not a robbery, nor would it've been if the ref had stop the fight.

I bet Andrade really hates the fact Bute beat the count, shows canadians have heart too.
Yea was thinking the same thing. Bute won fair and square. All he had to do is just get up too win, And he did just that. Big props to Andrade for never giving up.
bute wins huh? no rules about leaning on ropes? ok, sorry but i'll own you now! act like a cunt, and now be treated as one!
Determination of a Knockdown
It shall be ruled a knockdown when, as a result of a legal blow or series of legal blows, a contestant:
1. Touches the floor with any part of the body other than his/her feet;
2. Is being held up by the ropes, or
3. Is hanging on, through, or over the ropes without the ability to protect him/herself and cannot fall to the floor.
Knock Down Eight Count
In the case of a knock down, the eight (8) count is mandatory. A contestant who is knocked out shall be suspended for a minimum period of sixty days and a contestant who loses by technical knock out shall be suspended for a minimum period of thirty days from participating in any boxing activity.
A referee may terminate the count and the bout at any point when he/she decides that the safety of the downed boxer is at risk.
In the event of a knockdown, the downed boxer will be allowed a ten count in which to rise unassisted. Should a contestant arise before the count of ten is reached and go back down immediately without being struck by the opponent, the referee shall resume the count where he/she left off.
A referee may count a contestant out who is hanging defensively on, through, or over the ropes or on the floor

in a fair and honest fight bute loses by KO.
in a even more fair fight, bute loses by KO sooner had the referee made bute stop holding earlier. i said from the 3rd round on, if bute isnt allowed to hold on like he is doing, bute gets worn out and knocked out before the 10th, and i bet that would've been the case had the ref not let bute do whatever the hell he wanted to in the ring.
there is no way around it, bute lost the fight by KO, any denying of that and you don't know shit, maybe you'd be better off without bute's nuts covering up your eyes!
bute won on the cards, no doubt, but he was ko'd and the corrupt inexperienced referee robbed andrade.................
there is no justifying the ref's actions, the numbers don't add up, from the time left on the clock, to the ridiclously long count, to going after andrade in the middle of the count, to count the number 6 twice, and when he resumes the count he goes from 6 straight to 9!
if you start the count when its supposed to be started, as soon as the downed fighter hits the canvas, bute gets up at 10, the bell should've sounded as soon as bute hits the canvas, because there was no time left on the clock, but the count reached 10 ( in reality! not this hometown cooking BS!) and bute was barely on his feet, wasn't repsonsive, and couldn't even hold himself up, THEN!!!!, after all is clear they ring the BELL!!!!!!!! which should've rang as soon as bute hit the canvas because the round was over, and that is when the count should've started, if at all! IBF rules; a fighter can not be saved by the bell in any round!!! and to go by the count and the rules, even if the fight is over, and the fighter is trying to get up to beat the count and does, he still has to be cleared as if he could continue to fight, which bute did not and wasn't not able to because he was clearly ko'd!!!!
another travesty in boxing, i really hope that andrade wins his appeal, this fight should be over turned, plain and simple!!! green karma sent. nice post!
Simply the worst robbery I've seen in boxing. Andrade TKO R12.

rofl a reporter to combat robberies happening in canada with saying Ngoudjo got screwed over ni America.
He won 6 rounds tops. Malignaggi won imo
I know, what a terrible comparison
I think Herman got a pretty close decision over Bailey in his hometown ..and i found that to be spottier then the Malignaggi over Ngoudjo decision.
but agreed, pretty terrible comparison.
Bute wins, and mexicans on here make me sick. Theres no rule in the book that says that Bute can't stand up and lean on the ropes a bit. No ****ing rule what so ever. The ref is god in the ring, the ref said Bute was good enough to continue, not you biased nutthugger mexicans who nutt-hug on anyone who is mexican. I'm not even canadian, but Bute showed alot of heart. Ask BPP to check my ip address. I'm from America.

I felt that Andrade should have won by KO. The referee was way out of line and I would not rule out corruption. "Wasn't in the neutral corner" Get the fuk out of here.
Rules are there for boxer not to get hurt or killed. Can you imagine if the last hit put him in a coma. by the way a fighter can be KO on hs feet. Lean how to read the rule book. Do not hate on a race just b/c of a fight.
The showtime announcers look like crack-addicts. Plus, there American and biased and of course they want the American to win. Why don't you go watch the ufc crap and go bother those people.
You're not the ref, so you can **** off with these annoying topics you keep making acting as if bute is shit.
The fight is Mexico vs. Canada, but the American commentators are biased,ok? They did not even mention Bute holding the whole fight. Posting a topic with press conference annoys you, fine then don't watch. And i have not made any threads about bute being a bad boxer. He's very good not great and the pressure got to him like i thought it would. I'm sorry you have a mancrush on him and can't stand anything being said about him.
yeah those mexicans commentators from showtime are the worst of them all
