Whether he even made the 10 count is debatable. It is clear that the total count was somewhere between 20 and 24 seconds, but some are saying he was up by 8 or 9. well big f-in deal. You still have to stop the fight if the fighter doesn't come forward, even if he is on his feet. he wasn't even looking towards the ref and was looking towards his corner like a scared little boy looking to mommy for help. he was out of it. he had no idea where he was!
In fact, it could have been stopped before he even went down. he was done, done and done. Librado Andrade should have won this fight by KO. This kinda equalizer lies at the heart of boxing. thats what bring excitement to our beloved sport! you can lose every second of every round (which wasn't quite the case in this fight), but you can turn it all around with one punch.
I dont give a shit what had happened up til then. Librado Andrade won this fight!
**** the ref, **** Bute, **** the IBF, and **** Canada! (joke)
IBF RULES:
3.When a contestant is knocked down, the referee shall audibly announce the count as he motions with his right arm downward indicating the end of each second of the count.
4. When a contestant has been knocked down, the referee will order the standing contestant to the farthest neutral corner and begin the count. If the contestant standing leaves the corner before the count has been completed, the referee shall discontinue the count and order the standing contestant back into the corner. The count will not resume until the standing contestant has returned to the neutral corner.
5. Three (3) knockdowns in any one round do not automatically terminate the fight. If in the referee's judgment, which must be keen and decisive, the knockdowns have been indecisive and clearly have no injurious effect upon the boxer, the contest may continue but with good sense and judgment and the boxer's welfare always paramount.
6. The bell will not save a boxer in any round of the bout. If a boxer is "downed" just before the 3-minute bell in any round, the referee's count shall continue and the bell will not ring until the boxer rises and his hands clear the floor.
So according to those rules... Bute won. ugh... But the ref should have stopped it earlier when bute was wobblying his way around the ring. Anyway.
Btw no need to hate on canada seriously. Dont forget canada was the homeland of Gatti and Lewis(although not born here!)
No Andrade never left the corner, Bute was lying against the ropes. Did not raise his own hands and walk toward ref cleared to go.

bro- that shit about andrade being out of the corner was bullshit.
if you're out on your feet, standing is not enough.
so according to the rules, he was knocked out by the tougher man.
