Would you rather Team Pavlik lie and tell everyone Kelly was 100% and b-hop is just that much better than him? Thats not the effen case. Its a legitimate excuse. The kid was on antibiotics, couldnt train for 2 weeks cuz of the elbow, then was sick the last week of training. I agree he shouldnt have gotten in the ring that night, but he did and everyone at Team Pavlik regrets that decision they made to let him fight. And everyone who has watched any of Kellys fights should know something wasn't right with him. If you couldnt see that sat night your a damn moron period
maybe its true.but kelly shouldn't have fought, **** what the trolls in this board woulda said.if he wasn't healthy, he wasn't healthy.he exposed himself.
Listen up man, i am as big a pavlik fan as kelly has. he lost, got whooped by one of the best ever. he could have had 3 arm's, but was never gonna beat bhop that night. bernard was to much!!!!!!!!!!!! not the weight, the sickness, but bernard motherf ucking hopkins! now please stop making these retarded threads, and making real pavlik fans look like a bunch of whiney little cunts! get over it. he is the mw king, will be back, and will be fine. he had the balls to take a challenge most young fighters nowadays would have avoided. props to him for that. i have no ill feeling about him losing to an atg.
exactly my thoughts. There is a reason every single opponent bernard fights doesn't throw or land many punches. I mean, I hate compubox because it's unreliable, but according to them Calzaghe landed the most punches on bernard in his entire career. And that was 200 punches!
You can't constantly throw 90 punches a round if your man is not sitting right in front of you. Bernard simply doesn't do that, he has great lateral movement and he always creates distance and if people do get in close, he'll counter you with a right or clinch. It's simply not possible to throw 90 punches a round against bernard, it's impossible.
Pavlik's fans, and even Pavlik himself doesn't get that, "he didn't have anything," because Hopkins took everything away. Fighting's a lot easier when your opponent is backpedaling towards the corner.
What Kelly does in his next superfight would be crucial especially if he's facing a fighter effectively using the strategy that Bernard used to stump him, and frankly, in going by excuses and failing to give Bernard proper credit for his efforts, he fails to give proper attention in fixing the holes in his style and setting himself up for another major embarrassment.
His trainer particularly sucks if he shares the same mindset Kelly is showing right now because it means he hasn't got a clue about why that fight turned out the way it did.
Kswizzy you said Kelly was the same???? Are you serious??? He's thrown 70-90 punches per round his whole career. The first round of the Hopkins fight he threw something like 26!!!!!! Ya everything was just the same right? whatever
You don't understand boxing. Clearly.
Your boy got worked. Get over it. I'm a Pavlik fan too, and I pretty much hate Hopkins on top of that. And even I'll admit that Pavlik was outclassed by the better man.

Hopkins wasn't coming in straight like most his other opponents. Hopkins didn't brawl him, he boxed him. Pavlik didn't have a still target to hit, Hopkins kept moving and keeping his distance and beating Pavlik to the punch. Pavlik isn't gonna throw punches if he knows Hopkins isn't in range to hit. That is just my assessment. I honestly didn't see what was different about Pavlik. he tried the same thing that he always tries and thats counter punching his opponents or giving them 1-2 or jab-jab punches when they would come in range. Hopkins was smart to keep his distance and move around the ring to prevent that from happening.
If that is the truth, then everyone on Pavlik's team, from him, to his dad, to Loew, to Arum, on down the line is clinically retarded and should kill themselves for letting their man get into the ring.
But they're just coming up with excuses, so they're not retarded, they're just whiney bitches who should get out of the sport altogether if they can't take the lows with the highs.

That was nothing to do with the fact he didn't have a stationary target for once, nothing at all

I'm a pavlik fan and I have a hard time believing that excuse. pavlik fought like pavlik. its that hopkins just laid out a really good game plan and executed it to perfection. they would've said something about it before the fight if this were actually the case. This is just an excuse to save Pavlik's career.
