FAO: People who were not Hopkins fans before Oct. 18th.

I've always been a fan of Hopkins, thus I felt bad goin into the fight cuz I was rootin for him but pickin against him. Glad to be wrong. Let's hope Roy beats Joe C so we get the rematch between B-Hop and the only guy to truly defeat him.

I've never been a Hopkins fan, but I've always respected him. He's done immensely more than Calzaghe, so I cheered for him in that fight, but that's one of the only times I can ever remember WANTING Hopkins to win. I picked Taylor to beat him, cheered Tarver against him, didn't care in the De La Hoya fight, didn't care in the Wright fight, didn't care in the Pavlik fight. Don't think I'll ever like the guy. His one exciting fight to me was the second Echols fight when he got mad.

I'm just wondering, who here has became a Hopkins fan, or has gained respect for him after the Kelly Pavlik fight. I notice that NSBs opinion of Hopkins has gone up in general, so vote! EDIT- Crap, I put 'Wasn't a fan before, Still now.', I meant 'Wasn't a fan before, Still not.' i would not say i was a big fan before but i did enjoy watching his fights just to dissect his style and understand the intelligence he showed in the ring as much as anything else i thought Calzaghe was tailor made for Hopkins TBH but i also realised that Hopkins was too old to beat Calzaghe as his stamina problems showed up against Winky allthough he still won the fight im a bigger fan now thought deffo i never disliked or disrespected him though

He has definitely made a believer. I was a not a fan of his dirty tactics. Kelly tried to hit him in the nuts.

Yeah I understand....that he hasn't been that exciting his last couple fights (calzaghe/wright). I'm still amazed at how well he did. I mean who would have thought he would have fought like this? At first I was a huge fan (mid 90's) then I got pissed off with Bernard's style of fighting over the last few years. I still don't appreciate some of the dirty tricks he pulled. But now? He turned me around and I love Hopkins again. The guy is awesome.
