Would he dominate also? I can see him pot shot his way to a decision, but not winning every round...8-4 probly..But there's always his chin though he did take Tito's punches well. He'd be more stationary than B-Hop so he'll counter on the inside which makes a good showing.
After Calzaghe is done with Roy Jones as much Calzaghe don't like it B-hop will be calling him out again id say they will fight again in Cardiff / Wales.
Which only leaves 1 big money fight for both Pavlik & Jones so i could see them fight would say jones would have too much in every department for Kelly .
kelly's futher is at 160
Roy would cause him trouble, but it wouldn't be smart of him to lay against the ropes like he tended to do with Tito. We don't know how much Roy has left though. We'll find out on Nov. 8.
Its obvious that pavlik don't belong above 160.
I think it would be an easy night for Roy Jones JR he would be too strong & all round has more to offer than Pavlik he should stay 160 for a long time then think about a big money fight with super-middles
Is this supposed to be a joke? A 70 year old Roy Jones would easily beat Pavlik...
Totally agree look what he done with Tito.
Pavlik will have to stay done at 160 because the fighters at 168 are good boxers like Kessler & soon to WBC champ Carl Froch who has power that would KO some lightheavys.
I found it funny that way before the hopkins fight many people here said Pavlik would knock out Roy if they were to ever meet.
Lol True!
i always said pavlik was overhyped though. hes more or less like Tito, i see Roy handling him the same way, probably without the knockdowns though... 9 rounds to 3 UD Jones
Roy would win only with more trouble along the way. He's not as slick as Hops. He has way more speed than both though, to the extent he could still use his speed to avoid Pavliks slow punches, and also his improved defence. So it'd be unlikely he'd get tagged enough for real problems, and his ring intelligence, variety and speed would beat Pavlik to the punch all night. Roy UD.
Roy would've won, but not the way B-Hop did. Roy would never stand and exchange with Kelly the way B-Hop did at times or sustain the movement. Roy would've layed on the ropes callin it defense, and Pavlik would've won some rounds.
Which worldclass fighter has Pavlik ever knocked out without landing 30 punches a round at a point where his opponent barely could stand?
He got thin arms
Isn't fast
not the best technique
= Worldclass devastating super puncher, cmon guys get real, there are already 2 threads that say that he isn't a murderous puncher.
I think Roy could of caused Kelly trouble with his hand speed and boxing brain and skill especaiily at a catchweight, but yes Roy has lost most of his reflexes now and can be pushed back a lot easier and i think there would be douts wether he could stand up to kelly's punches now with his punch reisitance. Can't see it happening as i can see Kelly just leaving catchweights alone for a while and staying at Middleweight, and who knows what next for Roy probaly all depends on what happens in the Calzaghe fight.
It depends on how much he has left, his handspeed and smarts would have given Pavlik a lot of trouble but Jones gets pushed back pretty easily now so it's hard to say. Jones said he offered to fight Pavlik at 170 after the Trinidad fight but Pavlik's camp said no so maybe Pavlik's camp wasn't too confident about that fight.
Would he dominate also? I can see him pot shot his way to a decision, but not winning every round...8-4 probly..But there's always his chin though he did take Tito's punches well. He'd be more stationary than B-Hop so he'll counter on the inside which makes a good showing.
Roy is faster than Hopkins. I think he would have possibly KOd Pavlik with a combination.
