Before Hopkins was an old man, well past it and Joes win was nothing against a 43 y old man. Now Pavlik supposedly the new guy to beat Joe has been dominated by Hopkins, do ppl sill discredit Joes win over Hopkins?
no one will remember calzaghe in ten years. hell in 2 years. they will look back and say wtf hopkins lost to some dude from wales? if they ever find footage of the fight they will laugh their asses off and know who really won. i doubt in the future windmilling spazzes are appreciated anymore.
I disagree, Calzaghe will be remembered for a while as one of the greatest super middleweights in history who beat Hopkins and he would be even more well remembered if he beats Jones in a few weeks' time.

Joe's win looks much better now. Consider also that Joe fought the worst fight he has fought in years.
I think it makes Calzaghe's win look a bit better.

Im a calzaghe fan but i thought Hopkins won the fight.
Hopkins certainly deserves a rematch but Joe wont give him one as he knows Hopkins is a nightmare!
we all we know calzaghe didnt win against hopkins it was obvious he was outclassed he some how got the decision. The hopkins we saw today would easily knock out calzslappy because he does nothing for the sport but slap like a bitch. After todays fight i realised why i like boxing because its an art that boxers like hopkins have mastered. But calzslappy looks ordinary and is not as skillful as the greats like hopkins.
jones will expose calzslapp like hopkins did.
We all know Calzaghe did win...because he did.
Calzaghe should fight Jones and retire. I don't want to see another fight with B-Hop. Maybe he should fight Dawson but I just see Calzaghe dominating against him anyway.
Hopkins said Calzaghe punches didn’t he hurt him once. Calzaghe later on admitted Hopkins did hurt him once
yea he felt the canvas once and almost got knocked down twice more. a true "winner"
:tragedy: Calzaghe landed more puches, Calzaghe won.
first off thats not even true. people on here have gone back and actually counted punches and hopkins outlanded calzaghe on real landed punches. so thats disproven. and 100 calzaghe punches equal 1 hopkins jab. calzaghe would have to land like 6 billion punches to win the fight.
outworked hopkins? what kind of talk is this? your talking points have no substance. his "work" was shit. sloppy and inaccurate. he didnt land any clean punches. hopkins didnt "work" as much but his work was more solid thus accomplishing his goal without having to "work" as hard as joe. that goal being to land punches this is boxing after all not shadow puppets which calzaghe likes to do.

Did i say he won because of that?
I just stated he was more agressive and looked like he actaully wanted to box.
He out worked Hopkins that night hence the Calzaghe victory. Now move on.

Calzaghe slaps (No offence to him) are different than Hopkins proper punches
Isn't it time for you to go now your boy Pavlik got beaten?
If he slaps then surely Hopkins should have walked straight through him all fight?
so calzaghe won cause he was more "agressive" and looked like he wanted to box. ok i checked the judging criteria and i didn't find those things. i found effective agression but calzaghe was no where near effective so throw that out. clean punching hmmmmm i wonder who won that category? oh well who cares calzaghe wanted to "box" if you call windmilling your arms in frustration boxing then more power to you.

I look negatively at people who constantly hate and sulk. Get over it he lost. Calzaghe was the the more agressive boxer and actually looked like he wanted to box,

I tlooks better, just like Taylor's wins over him looked better when he punked Tarver. Still don't make it decisive tho. I can accept Joe C gettin that SD, but I won't begrudge anybody that feels Joe lost.
work rate aka missing punches. i look negatively at a boxer who is so inaccurate and sloppy. you seem to praise that kind of style.

And Hopkins landing one punch a round after round 6, with the rest being with his head isn't negative?
Turn your computer off, unplug it, take it down the scrap yard and **** IT UP.
Now.
can you count? 1 is more than zero
Yeah fair and square, no question it was close, Hopkins knew he was up against someone good so he resorted to being a spoiler.
Calzaghe's work rate is what he tried to take away and it did work partially but not well enough.
