I don't think so, although they aren't fresh, he still has his legs, speed and some timing, those are things that go when fighters are shot but he's definitely not the same fighter.

he may or may not be shot... i for one say he is not shot, but quite close... he may be far enough gone to where he cant be calzaghe... Arturo Gatti proved he was shot when he got destroyed by alfonso gomez jose luis castillo proved he was shot when he couldnt win a fight on wednesday night fights THATS SHOT. badi ajamu, hanshaw, and trinidad... are not elite fighters by any means... but truly shot fighters arent beating anyone, just like gatti and castillo... I dont think hes shot in the sense of those two... but hes definitely far from being what he once was... with the change in his style, and a 3 fight win streak, its possible that hes gotten his body properly prepared to fight... there really is no yes or no to this question... we will see on november 8th Obviously the word "shot" is subjective. I think most people here are basing it on the incredibly high level Roy fought at for many years before. But "over the hill" is probably a more accurate description of someone who would probably still beat all but a handful of the lightheavies.

He ain't shot, he's just old. The Johnson fight is the only one where he took any serious punishment. Tarver just floored him wit 1 shot.

It all depends on what you measure it against. If the measure is a prime Jones then yes the man is shot. Having said that I think he can still perform at a level that is significantly higher than the vast majority of other "shot" fighters.

If I had to pick yes or no, then I'd say he is. He's nothing like he used to be. We'll know for sure on November 8th though.

I'm convinced that he is shot. His last three carefully selected opponents just disguised it. nearly jones' entire career is made up of carefully selected opponents. jones may or may not be shot, but he is not in his prime either. with that said i think joe would beat jones in his prime anyways. it was easy to look like a god against some of the opponents jones faced. he had a few good fights in there but jones simply should have been making bigger fights when he was the center of boxing. my opinion, if jones is hungry, he still has something left in the tank but he wont win any superfights. he is trying to cash out probably cause the rappers put a dent in his cash.

Roy is shot. He's just so damn naturally talented that even with his huuuge drop in skill, he's still a competitive matchup for Calzaghe. Which is pretty damn good for a shot fighter.
