Herbie Hide didn't have the talent Haye has. Herbie Hide was never undisputed anythin but crazy in the head, Haye was undisputed champ at Cruiser. Much more classy fighter and do a lot more then Hide did in the heavyweight division.

Haye was a better Cruiser and i suspect will be a better HW plus his style is better to watch but i can see the comparison man EXCEPT Haye aint fu-ckin INSANE!!! this is very true Hide is a ****in nut job :haha:

I think Haye's chin is over exaggerated. Yeah he has been down a couple of times and his corner threw in the towel against an ageing Carl Thompson but against Mormeck (who has a good KO average) he got back up composed himself and ended up getting a decisive KO. Only time will tell though. If he struggles to handle Monte Barretts punches (which are fairly powerful) then he'll get eaten by Wlad but if he copes well against Barrett's punches and shows he has carried the power to heavyweight (maybe even has a little more power being bigger) then we should be in for a great, memorable heavyweight fight with Wlad. (Sorry for the long sentence there)

Similar height and build, fast accurate power punchers, dodgy chins. Is David gonna go the same way as Herbie? Hide is straight :439: nah only joking Hide has the worst chin ive ever seen he does'nt need to get hit to go down

If Hide had a good chin he would have been very good, but the wind from Bowe's punches hurt him.

mate defense isnt just about having your hands plastered to your face, thats such nonsense. Putting a hand down completely changes your centre of gravity, makes you more mobile and balanced, no one ever told floyd or ali to put their hands up. . .

If he keeps his left hand higher he won't get in trouble. But he holds it so low that he gets caught quite often, it's an unnecessary risk to take. He simpley cannot do that at Heavyweight, punches are too big for him to have his hand down by his waist.

there are similarities, but i cant see haye ever going back down to cruiser, i think the chin problem is overhyped but we'll have to wait and see him get hit a bit

I like Herbie's punching technique better, plus, he managed to win a round against Vitaly. Haye will spark Vitali and Wladimir out on the same fucking night if he has to!! But seriously though, I know what you mean. Haye is wide with his punches whereas Herbie was quite neat and short.
