well people i don,t know but, i really don,t remember Cotto ever being beaten up badly at all...until Tony put in to him in their fight... he also said that it took about a month for him to recover... out of all the fights he,s been in and the ones he dominated you mean to tell me that the abuse he took in those fights he won it took him a month to heal...don,t sound right???
Excuses either way. Boxing is a hurt sport and fighters suffer injuries in the midst of combat. Whether it be busted nose, hand, or fist, a cut eye or broken jaw, many fighters have withstood the pain to be victorious. You're being nothing more than a stan saying it wasn't the worst beating he ever took.
Since you're not in agreement that it was the worst beating he ever took,
name another.
No one is saying it wasn't the worst beating he ever took. It most certainly was. But read the article, he said recovering from it didn't take longer than any other, nor was there necessarily more pain. Miguel knows it was the worst beating he ever took, he never said it wasn't.
I'm neither a "stan" (as u are with most mexican boxers)..nor am I making excuses for a man who stated it himself it wasn't..
He meant the beating overall..u don't feel what he feels neither do I..If he says it wasn't his worst beating..U guys wanna make him out to be like he was totally dominated for 11 rds..and discredit him for taking the knees when..ur idol Morales (who u mentioned above) sat his ass down in rd 3 and winked at his corner in Pacquiao-Morales III...
Was that his worst beating ever?..
Name the worst beating Cotto ever took in a fight.
Thats all I'm asking, as soon as you can do that, I can get on with the Morales example.
Vazquez quit in his corner because he knew with a broken nose he was a beaten man..
It was no question that's what was bothering Cotto the most..Pre-Margarito Torres put him down..(on a shove)..and was one of his toughest fights at 140..
If his nose woulda been busted open and Torres woulda still been bombin away..Cotto woulda had 1L a while ago..
There's no excuses for his loss..but he would have no reason to lie nor discredit Margarito for his Win..

Most Logical and Best post in this whole thread..
What a shame on the rest!
What other fight did he take two knees on his own accord? The second time he went down without a punch being thrown.
Manny Pacquiao didn't give Morales the beating of his life in the second match, Terrible just got tired.
Manny had nothing to do with it.
Cotto was beaten up mentally and physiclly.
Remember he couldn't talk after the fight at least when he went to puerto rico, his face was all swollen up.
The beating looked bad but he would have no reason to lie. I think its possible that he was cool i saw pics of him at the airport in PR after the fight and he didnt look that bad
he was beaten up mentally as well.
He took hella body shots. He took head shots too, but not enough to seriously hurt him . He was hurting from the the repeating workrate to the body. Not headshots. So thats why I think he'll bounce back just fine.
He said it didn't take him any longer to recover than previous fights. I think anyone who saw the fight knows he never absorbed that much punishment, and he knows that too. What he said was that it's not like it put him on the shelf for a longer time or anything like that.
