Hamed v Morales
initially i thought Morales because when Hamed is put under preassure he loads up and swings wide but then i had a rethink because Morales was very easy to hit and much more inclined to get into a war than most fighters and if you are to put Hamed on the backfoot and preassure him you need to be able to take his power because plenty of fighters have been KTFO trying to walk Hamed down Kelly,Ingle to name a few and i dont believe any FW in the world was capable of taking Hamed's power if he landed flush
Morales was hit flush by McCullough,Barrera,Pacman,Chi,Kelly, and he was not as cute of a fighter as Barrera he was easier to hit he was easier to trap on the ropes and he just did not have the Boxing brain of Barrera allthough he was a tremendous fighter and a real warrior im a fan of MAB,Morales,Naz,JMM,Pac, all of them but
who you got
:lol1: :lol1: yeah the guy that looked clumbsy and was off balance with nearly every shot against Raheem would of beaten a prime Hamed
:haha:
read his post better :damnit:
morales always beats hamed, prime v prime, shot v shot, overweigt v overweight... whatever.

if Morales was disciplined enough to follow a game plan against PAC, in a house full of frenzy, coming off a loss and eager to redeem himself, im sure he could have handled the same temptation against Naz...
and Hamed wasn't a defensive wizard himself either...who's to say a rampaging, prime El Terrible is something that Hamed could handle?
hey the fight could go either way and Morales would have his success without a doubt but i just feel his machismo lack of defence and come foward aggression would be his undoing
i can see Morales putting it on Hamed big time and Hamed falling behind but Morales paying late on walking into a big shot
its simple, i jus think that Morales' boxing skills were very underrated...they are easily overlooked because of his tendency to brawl...he had a great jab and worked off that jab very well...and since you like to use Marco as the barometer, dont forget that their trilogy is separated by slim margins..they weren't THAT far off as far as skill set
Morales is not cute enough to beat Hamed IMO and he is not disciplined enough to stay away from him for his own well being
Barrera was a much more intelligent patient fighter
Because you are not giving credit that Erik was a smart boxer in his own right and could pick apart fighters from the outside where he could extend his punches mroeso than he could with Barrera who kept inside of his range. Hamed was primarily an unorthodox boxer who largely kept himself on the outside.
because i dont believe Morales was a smart fighter easily dragged into a war and easy to tag cleanly
he has good variation to his attacks and he could counter punch but he did not have the discipline and smarts to beat Hamed IMO where as Barrera did
i disagree strongly and i dont know how you come to that conclusion when Mab was a smarter fighter and got hit less than Morales and Mab was the better Boxer

well, i suppose we can agree to disagree...i think EM-Hamed would be a bigger mismatch than Hamed-MAB

kelly, chi, pocket rocket, MAB and PAC were also fundamentally better than hamed...the only time he would be able to get off is to get into a full exchange against EM...and although he had power, going toe to toe with Morales isnt really a wise thing to do...especially in his prime
Chi was a straight ahead brawler and McCullough was conventional but he was not what i wouold call fundamentally better than hamed
who was easier to hit McCullough or Hamed there is your answer
i think its more foolish for Morales to go toe to toe no one ever stayed upright who went toe to toe with Hamed
hamed never wanted to tango with any of the big 3 at the time...the only reason he took on MAB was because he was coming off a loss to El Terrible..
with that said, it would be foolish to dscount the punchers chance of Hamed...he would always be in the fight...however, there have been stretches in EM's bouts, especially at 130, where he relied on his underrated boxing skill...the basic jab, one-two combos that MAB employed could also be replicated, IMO, by EM...if he stayed loyal to that gameplan, i can see him winning a points victory
take a look how Kelly,Chi,McCullough,Barrera,Pac,hit Morales and tell me he is taking shots like that off Hamed
no chance
but he cant take Hamed's power and he get hit a lot and he is not cute enough to do what Mab did he is all guns blazing that gets him canvased with Naz
But at the same time Morales is a harder puncher than Barrera so whats to say that when he landed Hamed didnt go down? He did go down from shots from Kelley who wasnt known as a hard puncher.
morales can outfight, outbox, and outhustle hamed any day of the week
but he cant take Hamed's power and he get hit a lot and he is not cute enough to do what Mab did he is all guns blazing that gets him canvased with Naz
Hard to say. I favour Morales, Hamed's main advantage is power and unpredictability and Morales overcame those pretty well in Pacquiao first time out. Also am I right in believing that prior to his old man losses to Pacquiao he had never even been down? Or was it just stopped?
I think in his prime Morales would just have had too much game for Hamed. You are right though, it is always dangerous going to war with the Prince.
yeah when i see Morales fights and i see how easy he was caught flush at times and how he would go to war when it was more benficial for him to Box it makes me think a shoot out with Hamed would mean him taking some huge power shots on the way in and as i said i honestly dont believe any FW in the world takes Hamed's power if he lands cleanly
