It's no secret Mayorga was going to lose via unanimous decision, instead he got robbed and KO'd. The referee didn't make Mosley go to a neutral corner.
What the hell was up with that? There were a few seconds left after the initial knockdown, no way Mosley would've made it back to him and caught him again. Well, maybe it would've been possible but the ref ****ed up. Just like in law, murderers have the right to a fair trial, the referee should be doing hsi job even if it's Mayorga.
F.uck the world and let 'em die.
the ending was fixed. do you think golden boy would be able to set up a big fight for mosley with a struggling UD? think outside the box people
My old man was saying the same thing. I don't think I agree though......
what u mean "It's no secret Mayorga was going to lose via unanimous decision":S i had, and so did many others mayorga up, so during the fight, i thought mayorga was going to win via UD, but golden girl himself oscar de la homo bought the judges and 1 criminal backhander judge had mosley up 5 rounds! WTF!?!?!?!
WOW.....When they said the one judge had mayorga up by 4 or 5 points Emanuel and Jim lampley were damn surprised as was I. I saw mayorga hold the whole fight and rough housing on the insde. Twisting Shanes arms head butting and turning his back while Shane was throwing punches. i thought the reff should have warned Mayorga for holding long long before the 12th round. You saw what happened as soon as mayorga got tired and couldn't hang on to Shanes arms for dear life anymore? Yeah he got floored exactly. Watcht he fight againa dn score it yourself....I gave the first two rounds to Mayorga and rond or 8 or 9 as well. Besides that i had Shane on clean effective punching and as being the one taking the fight to Mayorga. If you like holding and hitting then I guess you scored rounds for Mayorga in this one. If you like a good straight right hand and a crisp lunging left hook then Mosely was your man....Lefty
Oh yeah Rizzi i get your argument sir and if that si your case then I didn't notice which corner Mosely went to during the knock down. he was qucik to jump in with a hook but like I have been told many times if the reff will allow it then you have to firgure it in the cards. The reff allowed mayorga to hold way too much and there were alot fo head buts and low blows by both fighters mostly due to Mayorga puahing Shanes head down and twistinghis arms alot. But the reff allowed it....So the neutral corner ahh well it is a good argument and a way for you to post this thread it would have held more weight if Mayorga was really ahead when he got floored and KO'd.....Lefty
The Sky commentators were hilarious. Near the end of the fight they said Mosley needed a KO to win, and one guy said "Of course, Mosley is a Golden Boy fighter, and is very much the hometown favourite", then a second later "Not that that should matter, of course..."..
:lol1:
oh... of course not....
I also had like 4 rounds scored for Mayorga. The claim that Mayorga should have been winning hands down is crazy. To give him the close rounds is one thing, but to call the scorecards a robbery is another. It wasn't a tactical fight where one man's subtle work was going unnoticed, it was just a rough fight with Mosley landing the cleaner shots. I could have seen 5 go to Mayorga, but really no more than that in my eyes. I think Mayorga felt he was down by the 12th and felt he needed the knockout. Although. it is hard to tell with Mayo because he would have fought the 12th that same way even if he had won every round prior. Gotta love him, the dude has problems.
"It's no secret Mayorga was going to lose via unanimous decision"
That thought came to mind in the final rounds. Obviously the judges were going to favor Mosley ::coughkjksdfGOLDENBOYPROMOTIONSkjdsflkj:: cough::

if mayorga isn't pissed about it why are you?
If your argument is strictly based on the fact that Mosley shouldn't have been so close to land the left hook in time, then OK I get it. For anyone trying to say that he should have been allowed to stand after the 2nd KD, crazy talk. He was knocked off the planet with that hook. MY point was the overlooked fact that he didn't show he was able to continue the fight after the FIRST knockdown. I was just adding a point that no one here seemed to mention. He was given a lot of time after the first KD and still didn't look right to continue to me, which is why he got so quickly destroyed with that hook (which he should have been too far away to land in your opinion, I get it).
Ok, good.
He was def. DONE after the 2nd knockdown.

In order for Mayorga to have won a decision, it had to be crystal clear. Which it wasnt.
The fight was pretty competitive, much more competitive than ppl thought it was going to be. Mosley should've, in theory, boxed his ears off with ease and stopped him in the mid rounds.
Again, I'm not arguing that Mayorga lost. That's fine.
He was, however, ****ed over in the sense that the ref didnt fulfill his responsiblities to have Mosley go back into the corner.
You're not getting the point.

Lefty,
Understand what I'm talking about. If the ref had Mosley go to a neutral corner after the first knockdown, the fight would've ended and Mayo would've lost a UD NOT by KO.
No ones arguing that Mayorga was going to win, that's not the point.

Oh so because the bell rang he should have been allowed to try and get up? This makes no sense whether it was the first last or middle rounds you cannot be saved by the bell. The reff waived off the fight and did the right thing. He was done finished kaput.....He was not aware of where he was after the first knock down. The reff did him a favor then letting it go past that because the bell was near. If he would have giving him the opportunity to get up I truely don't think he could of and if he did he would have at the point if time was on the clock they would have called it a TKO anyway....LEFTY
You are also not getting the point.
You're not getting the point.
That is because you don't have one sir.....He was finished after the first knock down it is you who are not getting the point.....Lefty
Mayorga deserved a chance to beat the count, especially after the ref heard the final bell ring and knew that he wasn't in any jeopardy.

You guys are nuts Mayorga had no chance. If that first knockdown happened in the middle of the 7th round, the fight would have been called there. He walked the wrong way and was given more than the usual amount of time when he got up. Then Shane destroyed what was left of Mayo and he was on the canvas for a good minute after.
