We're 3/4 of the way through the year with some big fights coming up in the last quarter.
In your opinion, who has given the performance of the year so far?
I think, even in losing, Cotto gave a hell of a performance against Margarito. He tried everything, Margarito was just too much.
Was it Margarito's late round rally and stopping P4P Cotto?
What about Pacquiao's destruction of David Diaz?
Or JMM's out of nowhere stoppage of Casamayor?
Name some, maybe we can get a poll going.
When you list the fights like that, lol this year was really amazing for boxing.
Yeah, it has been an amazing year. There are still three months to go with a lot of good fights coming up. Let's hope the Old Timer's (Shane, Oscar, Roy, Bernard) can pull out great showings.
cotto's performance would have been more admirable and would have gained ALOT of more fans if he didnt take two knees and quit so that shouldnt even be an option.
I voted for him too, he deserves it. It was close between him and Marg for me though.
I also don't think it's in Vazquez favor that his fight happened earlier in the year. Some people have forgot how special that night really was. It was the best trilogy in history. A great 4th round(back and forth) and the 12th round was special... as Vazquez displayed his heart and his determination to win.
I gave Izzy the nod. He lost the early rds, got knocked down, got hurt, got cut, and came back to bust ass late and win the FOTY.

Margs beating Cotto, never thought it would happen
The majority of fans thought Cotto would beat Margarito. Margarito surprised a lot of people that night.
What Izzy did in the 3rd fight of the trilogy is the kind of shit you make Legendary Nights about. I find hard to believe that anyone can truly vote other wise.
I was there live at the Home Depot Center. What a freakin' night and environment. Everyone was on thier feet, throughout the fight, but especially in that 12th round. I could not believe that Vasquez dropped Rafa in those final seconds. I knew that was the swing point in the decision as did everyone in the stadium. Great fight!

margarito for me, it was also my favourite fight of the year. Both performed admirably and gave it their all.
That fight is what boxing is all about, laying it all on the line.
Definitely Margarito. He just would not be beaten that night.
Runners up are Pacquiao's impressive blowout of David Diaz, and Marquez's schooling and ultimate stoppage of Casamayor.
