Juan Diaz vs. Ricky Hatton

Ricky would work Diaz's soft body and put him down late.

Hatton is too big for him, Hatton is right where he should be at 140, I believe Diaz needs to lose some of that "baby fat" and get his ass down to 130. I see Hatton stopping Diaz late.

i love how after 9 months hatton went from the 2nd best fighter in the world to being a shot bum...your are all casual fans who know fuck all about boxing...bloody amercians!

Hattons chin is being called questionable because he was almost stopped in his last fight against someone most people believed to be past best. and how? by a counter left hook. Hatton is wide open to left hand shots. If you didnt notice, Diaz was actually landing quite a few tight left hooks ok Katsidis, and tons of jabs. most people believe Collazo couldnt punch either, but against Hatton... for the record, I would be semi-surprised if Juan won. He IS way smaller than Hatton, no doubt about it. Juan is pudgy at 135, and Hatton is pudgy at 180. Juan could go to 130lbs easily if he wanted to, Im willing to bet. but Juan has the boxing ability to make a very exciting and very competitive fight, and thats all I really want.

I think Ricky is really starting to slip which would make this a close fight I think. A couple of years ago I would have picked Hatton by a mid round KO, but I think Ricky's lifestyle has begun to catch up with him and he doesn't look as sharp to me. I would go with Hatton in a very close decision, could go either way though I think.

One knockout loss and suddenly Hatton has a weak chin! Ricky wins a stoppage late on as long as he can keep up his workrate. He has far more power than Diaz and is ripped at 140 lbs.

Diaz would lose by a late stoppage. He just wouldn't have enough power to hurt Hatton.

Ive been calling for this match up for a long time. Would be a great fight. Hatton would be too strong I think and work over Diaz's podgy belly to stop him with body shots. Thats where Campbell and to a lesser extent Katsidis got some joy against Juan.

Diaz would outwork him for the decision.

Hattons shown a weak chin in his past few fights... i think diaz's jab would stop him a lil bit and his straighter cleaner punches would break him down a bit for the late Tko.

Hatton wins by close decision. To strong for Diaz, and would go to the body a lot more then Kat did, But would be a great fight.

You must be joking. Hatton is much bigger and stronger than Juan. Juan could probably go down to 130 if he lost the puppy fat Hatton would bully him. I must be joking? You must be shrooming... They are 5 lbs. apart. And if I'm not mistaken, Diaz looks pretty damn quick and durable at 135, I doubt goin to 140 will make a huge difference for him. It would be a good fight. I think you might be the only one yet to respond who said that Diaz would be too small. Look who's getting the votes in the poll so far genius. ANd i voted ricky.

Next card the wish list- after the Malignaggi fight: Hatton-Diaz, Katsidis-Prescott. I'd even pay 50 bucks for that.

Hatton is smarter and more awkward than Katsidis, impossible for Juan to use the same gameplan. Although I think he would have a good chance to beat Hatton, I think he'd need more than what he brought vs. Kats.
