I jus want to say somethin about Roy Jones and his knockout losses to Tarver and Johnson. Does this tarnish he legacy because Thomas Hearns and Sugar ray Robinson both got knocked out and where still looked at as good foghters after those fights so jus askin maybe it was the other fighters and not Roy...i Mean Tarver was a tall southpaw who gave Roy trouble with his style and Glen Johnson has legendary stamina and a solid chin so can Roy still be good and maybe it was jus those fighters
I'll admit the Johnson knockout was about as bad as it could be. But Johnson has always been a tough opponet, most of his losses are clear robberies or hometown decisions. And Johnson is still doing well even at this late stage of his career, still can't get a decision to save his life, but he's among the best at Light Heavyweight.
I don't think the 2 KO losses of Jones tarnish his legacy in any significant way.
Second time I've seen this vid in a week. Roy had the illest swagger ever.
I never said they tarnished his legacy, I said they tarnished his image significantly. I do think however that due to this they also somewhat tarnished his legacy, Jones will always be remembered as falling off a cliff rather than slowly declining. A win over Calzaghe could overwrite it to a degree in the public consciousness though.
