Jeff (New York): Hey, I was wondering if you knew how well tickets have sold for Katsidis-Diaz? Will the placed be packed or empty??? And are you surprised by this?
SportsNation Dan Rafael: (2:12 PM ET ) By all accounts, they have sold very, very well and they expect a crowd of about 15,000.

Wow, sold a ton better then i thought it was going to. Sold better then a lot of big fights reall... Abraham-Miranda 2 did like 4,000 seats, Cotto-Marg did like 11,000 seats, Calderon-Cazares did about 10,000 seats, and Pacquiao-Diaz did like 9,000 or something.
So those are some impressive numbers. The packed house should make the fight muuuuuch more exciting then it otherwise would have been, sooo... i think this is going to be an all time classic lightweight fight.
plain and basic common sense. Honestly Viva, i think in the future less and less people may stop going to Margarito fights. They will be public execution and too gruesome for T.V This man has no regard for human life!
so.... more people will go?
Cotto-Marg did way more then 11,000
nah the official numbers were in the 10,000's i believe.
"A disappointing crowd of 10,477 attended the fight. Puerto Rico vs. Mexico is still essentially an east coast rivalry. The bout would have been better attended had it taken place at Madison Square Garden or in Atlantic City. But Arum’s judgment was vindicated by the first post-fight pay-per-view numbers, which indicate that there were close to 500,000 buys."

whats cool is that if this shit goes off mad profitable, all GBP has to do is put a houston fighter on the card and have more big fights in Houston. I mean, its cool for me.
Thats what Im hoping for.....We rarely get big fights...Houston has been looked over for far to long on events like these...You market it right you will have a full arena of drunk mexicans!!!!!

You attending Kball?...
if i lived within a 5 hour drive i would be going... but it would take me like a day to drive out there lol.
really wish i was going, its gonna be something special over there
yea they are both apparently very big locally, but 15,000 big???
ha. love how the shootings and stabbings are just a side note
Its a "big event" in Houston. One thing about Texans is that we are very prideful when it comes to our state and our own people. Diaz may not be big on a national level but he reps Houston so the fact that he's a pro boxer on the "HBO" level will get people out there to support. Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Lil Keke should be there too. :)
Juarez and Diaz are both from around Houston right?

and yet, the brits want to fight in America.
anyway, expect some shootings/stabbings during or after the fight.

its not that much
u only got to look at attendances in britain and u will laugh at that figure
