- Joe cannot win a decision over Roy Jones Jr with American judges in New York, such as Julie Lederman.
- Because of hand injuries, Joe cannot punch like he could when he fought Eubank, Mitchell and Sheika. So he is unlikely to knock Jones out.
- Joe will be fighting in a new environment, Madison Square Gardens against a fighter who has fought there and loves the place.
- Joe appeared to be somewhat past prime in the first couple of rounds against Kessler, and much so in the early rounds against Hopkins. In his past fights, such as Eubank, he started strong.
- Jones is somewhat faded but NOT a shot fighter.
Prediction: Although it will be fairly close, Joe will deserve a decision win in this one, but will lose on the scorecards.
That's not actually a bad analysis. Roy beat Tito with only one fully working arm, it's gona be competitive and Roy certainly knows how to pull of a win. Calzaghe needs to be sharp mentally, and have quick reactions, not play Roys game. If he does that he'll win by clear decision. In all likely hood he'll have some tough moments with Roy looking flashy and getting the edge, so will it'll be a closer decision then it probably should.
Joe can't win a close decision in New York though. Don't forget Lewis vs. Holyfield I. Lewis won every round, and it was scored a draw.
And if it's Julie Lederman, I'll bet you 100 K to your 1 K that she won't score a single round for Joe, not matter how well he fights. She scores fights with her emotions instead of her brain.
I'll take that if you are serious :lol1:
Does Joe get up? Does he go on to win the fight?
Is that the Mitchell fight?
Joe knocked Mitchell down, and then knocked him out in the same second round.
why do people keep saying Jones isnt shot?
Its obvious that he is shot and totally shot at that.
A Jones that cant beat Tarver is a shot Jones.I wish with all my heart that he wasnt but he is and thats it
A shot Jones dominates and beats Calzaghe.
Tunney, of course Calzaghe can win a decision, he just has to make sure its clear. Because of the Hopkins fight everyone seems to be expecting Joe to look shit, but he won't, Jones isn't Hopkins and won't be able to stop Calzaghe from boxing in the same way.
I knew you'd come!!!
