What happens if Prime Jones fought Prime Pavlik?

Very possible. I think Calzaghe would be the fav. going in. However Calzaghe isnt getting any younger and I think Pavlik is only getting better. Pavliks work rate would be just enough to pull the upset in a close fight. I think Calzaghe is starting to slip a little and its only going to get worse. But im glad/ hope this fight doesnt happen. We should be talking about how Pavlik is going to beat Hopkins and Calzaghe will be making Jones learn how to lean on the ropes. Cant wait untill Calzaghe beats Jones around for 12 rounds. Pavlik's only chance on beating Hopkins is just too throw more which isn't all that hard to do and in a close fight which it will be Pavlik will get the decision being that he is the undefeated rising star in the sport. why would they give it to a past it 43 year old veteran? This was a bad bad fight for pavlik to take as Hopkins will make him look really bad and he won't get any credit for the win unless he was somehow able to stop Hopkins which is near impossible. I really like jones but at this stage he won't be able to handle Calzaghe's workrate.

There is little doubt that prime Jones would beat Pavlik at any weight, but the scenario would be different than Jones's fight with Woods. Pavlik has a knockout punch and a cast iron chin. Alot of people won't admit this but it could go either way. If Pavlik catches him, thats it for Jones. With that said though I'd bet on Jones but its not a safe bet like many are stating.

I thought Jones didn't look quite the same starting from the Harding fight, his footwork just looked that little bit slower. That's about the time where I started being annoyed by him. He was too tentative against harding, Harmon, Gonzalez, etc....
