...the Oscar-Floyd fight was a MUCH bigger event than Manny-Oscar could ever dream of being. It wasn't called "The World Awaits" for no reason. This was the most popular fighter of the last 10 years going up against the best fighter of the last 10 years. The fight was being talked about years before it happened, with Floyd always wanting a piece of Oscar. Up until a few months ago, no one dared to dream that Manny would one day fight Oscar, in fact, mainstream America just started paying attention to Pac recently. His pedigree right now is nowhere near Mayweather's level. Pac has losses in his record and has had a lot of close calls, whereas Floyd was an undefeated Olympic Champion from a top-notch boxing family.
Bottom line: the Manny-Oscar PPV sales will not approach those of the Floyd-Oscar bout, so Manny will not end up making the same money Floyd did.
thread starter got owned. i mean come on during the odlh-mayweather fight those who came were all odlh fans. 90% were oscars 10% only for mayweather. it was oscar who raked the money not mayweather. what more if pac fights i bet the whole filipino community will be there. i think it would out sell more.
I don't know how you can "own" someone by stating opinions. You're gonna have to do better than "I think" and "I bet" to accomplish that.
GUYS! GUYS!!!! I JUST got off the phone with Ellerbe. He just confirmed that Manny infact does NOT have more lambo's than Floyd so we can all rest easy now. Floyd still has more lambos than Manny. *phew* I mean, SERIOUSLY, I could barely get any work done here at the office. I couldn't even fuck my fiance in the ass properly because all I could picture was Pacquiao and Roach driving on the way with lambos laughing their asses off. Close call, very close call.
Actually, they called it The World Awaits to hype up that piece of garbage. The only real reason was because Oscar(the real draw), was facing the #1 P4P at the time and as always with Oscar, he's gotta make everything a big deal. What was his last fight called? Something like homecoming? I mean shit, the guy is a drama queen. I have no reason to believe that this fight can't be any bigger than oscar-floyd since Oscar will do something to make his last fight huge. He said it already, he wants to go out big. I'm sure he'll make sure everyone and their grandmother views this fight regardless if they like boxing or not. He'll be on every late night show to talk, and do whatever possible to hype it. I could see it passing Oscar-Floyd in that Manny has more true fans that would pay to watch him fight than Floyd did. So Manny's supporters paying, plus Oscar's=big money, big event.
Mayweathers's Pay Check is not anyone elses .. so why do Floyd fans constantly go on about "PAY DAY this" and "PPV that" like they are cashing in or something??
To make a Point.. The Montreal Canadiens have the highest gate in the NHL..Toronto Maple leafs have the biggest TV audience and The New York Rangers bring in the most revenue...
None are the best..
fan base and paydays dont win you shit.. and prove nothing
just saying is all
And why is this important to us? Knowing that Manny won't be getting as much as Floyd really won't help us get through the day like some of the members on this forum.
My thoughts exactly.

He might not make as much as Floyd for the bout, but he sure as hell will put on more of an entertaining showing than Floyd. Pac is a warrior who lays it all on the line when he steps in the ring. None of that pity pat shit.
Despite that, im still against the pac/oscar fight from happening.
