This fight will not age well. Future judges and analysts of boxing will know that decision was terrible. When they find out BHOP lost that fight before he ever got in the ring, they will "get" the wacky victory. When you can win fights in boxing by just physically moving more and coming forward with nothing of substance, it sends a terrible message.
No, it will be historically regarded as a justified victory. The only way it will not age well is in the eyes of people who are unable to acept the outcome and watch the fight obsessively year after year, becoming more convinced they are right and becoming more and more enraged until they die, twisted and alone, muttering curses about "slaps" and "cleaner shots".

i call that windmill hypnotism.
Also don't forget that he grew up in the housing projects first THEN moved to Germantown, which was a step up but as pointed out was still rough area at the time.
There's a fight everyday over this bout

calzaghe couldn't land a single clean punch in the entire fight. how does having more power make a difference? deadlier wind generated from his missed punches?
It wasn't slapping that beat Hopkins, it was joe's high workrate that got him the win, Hopkins landed the more effective cleaner punches but wasn't throwing manybecause his lack of stamina. Had Hopkins been years younger he would of been able to throw more which would mean land more and that would of resulted in a win for Hop.
There no point arguing over it, Hopkins isn't the same fight now as he was 10 years ago. He wasn't as smart but he had the physical tools to make up for it. Calzaghe on the other hand also wasn't as smart and his workrate wasn't 1000+ punches (it was still pretty good) but he threw hard punches.
Do you honestly think that this is what you have done?
I said that Calzaghe was a good fighter and that Kessler was a good win, he says that Hopkins is scared to get hit and only fought blown up welterweights. Oh and wouldn't be bothered with your other post and i mean no offense at all, but i won't bother responding to a post that will only be ignored anyway. Time is too precious to waste. :D
Its just laughable how people that doesn't want to face facts act like pound for pound list and actual rating doesn't matter anymore. I guess its all they have to work with.
What is "actual rating?" What does "pound for pound" even mean?
It's like saying the "greatest athlete?" Is Kobe a better athlete than Michael Phelps? The question doesn't make sense. But ESPN will put out a list of "greatest athletes," and their illiterate audience (yes, you need to be a moron to watch that channel) will refer to it as a fact as well.

Its the official ring magazine pound for pound list, which is indeed facts to where the fighters currently rank in world. You're on a different level when you don't even bother to debate or size up resumes? All you do is talk about what Hopkins didn't do and downgrade his resume. If you are on another level then you would have looked at it from both sides. No offense.
There is nothing "official" or "factual" about the ring list. That is a fairy tale. Read my thread linked in the above post.
People who count that list for anything are eo ipso not worth discussing boxing with

There are people who make lists, but those lists are marketing tools that have nothing to do with boxing.
You refer to "the" list, as if there were a list that represented "fact."
I'm on a different level. You may get here, but right now you're repeating child's arguments, so I don't engage them

This is a debate where we discuss boxing. I am stating facts that you just don't want to acknowledge. Sizing up resumes is what we do to prove points and get it across. There is no such thing as a pound for pound list now? Hmmmmmm
Who is this "we?" The people who do that are all the shit posters.

You're still on all this no0b shit. Like I said, you're ok with me, but you're not to the point where I can talk boxing with you.

Yeah, and I'm also sure you spent 4 years in prison.
Listen, your whole arguement about how hopkins isn't tough or his neighborhood isn't or whatever the fuck you came out looking like an absolute idiot and a hater of the highest degree. You literally spent hours upon hours trying to prove to this site that hopkins isn't tough. lmao, did he fuck you're mom or somethin? why so much hate for another man?
It's true. No one from Philly thinks Germantown is a tough neighborhood.
I can't look stupid even if I want to.
I didn't spend much time in jail, no, and I don't hope to
