Amir Khan has been branded a “spoilt kid” by the boxer who aims to become the first man to defeat the Bolton star.
Knockout specialist Breidis Prescott, who faces Khan at the MEN Arena next month, is convinced that he can bring an end to the British fighter’s perfect run of 18 professional wins.
The fearsome slugger from the slums of Colombia has flattened 17 of his 19 opponents early and is looking to make Khan his latest victim.
Prescott said: “This boy has been wrapped up in cotton wool to protect him from the real world of boxing.
“He won silver at the Olympics and they say he is one of the best young boxers out there.
“They also say he is a world champion in the making, but you can’t say that until you have faced and beaten someone like me.”
The pair meet on September 6 for the WBO Intercontinental lightweight title, with Commonwealth champion Khan the firm favourite with the bookies.
However, the rugged Prescott is planning an upset, adding: “He has decided to unwrap himself from his safe little cocoon and step into the ring with a South American fighter for the first time.
“Now we will see if he really has what it takes at the top level because, believe me, I coming over there to do some real damage to him.
“He won’t be recognised by people after I’ve finished with him. He’s had it easy in his career and been looked after and in my eyes he is just a spoilt little kid that needs a good beating.”
It certainly looks as if the fight could be a potential banana skin for Khan, who is risking a potential world title fight to face the hardman from Barranquilla.
Prescott added, “All I’ve ever done in my life is fight since I was a kid growing up in the streets of Barranquilla.
“I couldn’t walk to the boxing gym to train without having at least two or three fights on the way from kids that wanted to rob me or prove themselves.
“Where I come from there are little kids that would tear Khan to pieces if they got in a ring with him – they would be on him like a piranha.
“Khan has never had anything like this in his life, which is why I am going to be the first to beat him.”

Sounds like prescott is ready, ok he may have beaten bums, but he is likely to be the hardest/toughest puncher khan has faced to date, and with his dodgey chin it could be lights out.
However i still think khan will TKO/UD prescott, because im assuming khans defence has improved.

nobody in this thread should feel bad, we all make mistakes and it was a huge upset, albeit, a hilarious one.
dude i explicitly stated he didn't even have a punchers' chance :nonono:
terrible
If he was a REAL threat you would not see him anywhere near Khan, There is NO way warren would put him in there with khan unless khan has a 90% chance of victory.
I have seen this(With Hatton,Naz,Calzaghe)so many time not to get caught up with Frank warren cards.
lol, Well in my defence warren didnt pick prescott, rubio(former trainer) did and warren admit he wouldnt put khan in there with him.
If he has been picked to fight Khan and called a "qaulity opponent" or a "test"
I reckon this clown has ZERO chance.. and is only in there to make Khan look good.. as usual
Lol this made me chuckle, the only clown was Amir Khan.
its the amount of over-hyping and his cockyness about how good he is and winning a world title, without ever actually fighting a genuine lightweight of any quality, also sky box office without having major fight
People hate Khan because:
1) Hes really over-hyped, like even more than calzaghe and hatton put together.
2) Hes going PPV against a nobody, that seemed to upset people the most.
3) There are going to be racist people who hate him to I guess.
The PPV thing is very annoying, I mean really...
Apart from that I like him.

i hope prescott wins but i just dont see it, he has 9 people with 0 wins on his record, 1 of them he has fought twice, he is just another nobody with a padded record, unfortunately khan will win this easy, KO5 or earlier
Not a big threat. But he probably has a punchers' chance.
Honestly, thats about all you really need against Khan. His chin is VERY sketchy. If I was managing him, I would keep him away from anyone that can punch, and even then you have to be careful.
where abouts?
got a vid?
it was either Wednesday or Friday night fights earlier in the year.
guy is raw and cant land accurately enough for his power to matter.
no vid though, sorry
