Like the title says. Before the Celallero - Molitor unification they both have to take interm bouts, fair enough.
The unbeaten Molitor, 27-0, will be defending the IBF on August 29 against Young up and coming southpaw Ceferino Labarda who is 18-0. A fighter who will most likely be outclassed but has the ability to make a semi-competitive fight.
Caballero, 29-2, will be defending the WBA on September 18 against Elvis Mejia a 43 year old who has fought at a third world level his whole career who caries no punching power and has been stopped in all of his loses. The man has no quality fighters on his resume. Caries a record of 27-7-1 with 7KO's and has been stopped all seven times he has lost. Talk about an easy way out!
I cant wait till Stevie gets his hands Ceballero. He's gunna spank this take fighter and expose him to the world as the coward he is. Go Molitor.
i thought caballero lose to jorge lacierva..... havent seen him beat on anybody of note since ponce....he just fought mauricio freaking pastrana....total joke at 122 pastrana was a 105 and 108er
so we can this, than izzy and juanma get it on, and the winners meet for some sweet super bantam cookin'.
I still think Rafael Marquez has a place in that division very close to the top. I mean, really, how close is that trilogy from being 3-0 either way? Those fights were as razor thin as you can get each and every time.
fair enough, the unification will be a hell of a fight
I don't think Lopez is ready for Vazquez yet, but in a bit maybe? Lopez is definitely my second favorite boxer though. Absolute fucking badass.

Well Monishpur was older anyway so there was no use of him fighting again after a war like that.
Somsak probably was damaged, but no one could say for sure and it was still a good win for him. Ceballero still looked good regradless. Also Daniel Ponce De Leon is still his best win, which is a good win.
Uhhh previous resumes count. Beating Somsak Sitchawalitch, who beat the former WBA champ Monishpur in FOTY 2006, and Daniel Ponce De Leon is better then anything Molitor has done. Ceballero is such a coward...then why is he willing to fight Molitor?
You have to take into consideration that when Caballero beat Somsak Sitchatchawal, he was half the fighter he used to be after his brutal back and forth brawl with Monshipour. Monshipour didn't even fought after that fight because it took so much out of him.
Molitor would box circles around Ponce De Leon, and his promoters offered up that fight on many occasions to no reply from Ponce. Molitor as said before is a very slick fighter that is hard to hit and is the best outside fighter in the division.
Would of could of should of. The fact still remains that De Leon is better then any other fighter that Molitor has on his resume and Ceballero beat him.

I've seen both boxers and have gotta say that both impressed me a lot. I really hope this fight takes place down the line, but I would struggle to call the winner.
Molitor would probably be my choice if the fight takes place in Canada. Molitor is one of the slickiest boxers around; the ease in which he was able to connect with his opponent while avoiding punishment himself was very impressive. He does lack KO power, but so far he has never been in a close fight against several solid opponents, which is testament to his skill.
Caballero is simply a beast. Good power, well schooled and deceptively quick. Without doubt his biggest advantage is his height. He just towers over his opponents and he knews how to use this advantage to its max. However, I do feel there is the chance that against a slick southpaw like Molitor that he can be outboxed relatively easily though.
Both fighters share a couple of similarities IMO. Outside of their own countries they are very much unknown and underrated. I really believe that both fighters also have a great chance of beating the top dog at 122lbs, Israel Vasquez. Hopefully the winner of this fight can set up a fight with Vasquez afterwards.
lol...he got DQ'ed..... more like took a beating but his brother entered the ring without stopping the fight....he shouldve gotten TKO'ed.....after absorbing clean straight lefts, getting dropped and cut.....and not winning more than 2 of 9 rounds.....never hurting caballero....
Then where is your top guy at 122, I dont see him. It doesnt matter where you fight it matters the results and Molitor has good results in all of his fights
The Canadian Kid hands down.
I know a coward when I see one, im a fan and a fighter bud. Do I respect anyone willing to get into a boxing ring and fight, of course, but there are times when people show true colors of being corwards, much is the case right here.
Previous resumes mean nothing, recent competition shows that Molitor has fought better fighters, with better results. The two of them have one mutual opponent, Ricardo Castillo. Castillo fought a back and forth even fight with Ceballero untill be got DQ'd. Against Molitor, he got beat to the punch all night and got badly outboxed to a wide margin defeat. So as far as resume's go I would say Molitor has the better one.

taylor......
Thanks bro. :)
This fight makes me happy though. That brings the relevant figures in the division down to 4. The winner of this fight, Vazquez, Marquez and Lopez. The less people on top the better!
the only coward is molitor for fighting at home, come to where the real men fight queer.. USA

Who is likely to win the unification between Molitor and Caballero?

It is amazing that fans call fighters cowards lol.

I've heard Stevie is a pretty slick dude. He probably will box and move.
Hey, in the 1st gif in my signature, who takes the ridiculous overhand left right after he puts Quartey down with a right hook? Is it Quartey? I can't tell if it is Quartey or Taylor.
taylor......
I haven't seen Molitor fight yet, but if he is as good as I've heard he is, he'll take Caballero apart.
well, ive seen molitor fight....hes a decent title holder.....he's boring though...
oh and he didnt look nearly as good beating piolo castillo as the ass whooping provided to castillo by the freak caballero
i disliked caballero....but i semi like him after seeing his fight with de leon...he showed fucking balls and chin...
lol 18-0 means nothing with that caliber of competition....molitor will get iced inside 10(unless he runs)
