15,170 vs. Zab Judah at the Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV
7,106 vs. Sharmba Mitchell at the Rose Garden, Portland, OR
12,675 vs. Arturo Gatti at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, NJ
4,000 vs. Henry Bruseles at the American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
6,103 vs. DeMarcus Corley at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City
The only sold out even was against Arturo Gatti at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City which is due to Gatti's popularity and the fact that Gatti has sold out Boardwalk Hall in his last several fights, regardless of opposition. If you can compare that sold out even with Mayweather's against DeMarcus Corley at the same venue, the attendace was not even at 50% capacity.
:luvbed:
pre-gatti mayweather was...actually alot more humble then, he talked here and there, but he wasnt nowhere near as contraversial as he is now. The fight with bruseles was still at the point where he was on boxing fans map, but not the mainstream map at all. After the gatti fight he had alot more success in the mainstream, but before, he wasnt much of a draw, he would usually win in dominant fashion and at that time, unless you were mexican, nobody was really paying much attention to 130.
The only fight that would have put mayweather over any earlier would have been if Hamed woulda got past Barrera.
Even though he was an olympian and people had been talking about him since the amatuers, he wasnt promoted like Cotto or anyone else, he didint have a nationalist fanbase sitting on his arrival...no american really does anymore.
not to mention the fight he had here in fresno against sosa did horrible. 5,000 at the most! that's about 60% empty!
mayweather is not a draw. he had to take advantage of the popularity of other fighters.
AND YET HE IS THE MOST POPULAR BOXER RIGHT AFTER DE LA HOYA.... LMAO.. AND THE MOST "SKILLED"
GOES TO SHOW YA .... WELL I DONT KNOW WHAT IT ACTUALLY GOES TO SHOW... BECAUSE EVEN AFTER ALL THIS HE HAS THE 2 HIGHEST FIGHTS IN BOXING HISTORY BACK TO BACK LMAO..

and I thought pacquiao vs diaz was a low numbers...that is a shame cause the economy wasnt as bad as it is now when floyd jr fought bruseles and he still only did 4000.
And why was floyd jr fighting in portland oregon? lol
havent you noticed Floyd jrs stay busy or tune up fights are all non threats and super low level guys?
yup, pretty odd.
