We all know that Mosley rejected an offer from Floyd, but after the DLH fight, Mosley, who is obviously a tougher fight than Hatton, publicly stated that he wanted Floyd, but Floyd declined. Why did Floyd decline? I dont understand.
mayweather only fights guys he knows he can beat
if there is a fighter he knows can give him a GOOD challenge and, can possibly beat him.. he accuses them of steroids.......
Mosley was the P4P Number 3 and Number 1 WW.
You know I love you.
I have some bump worthy threads myself.
Whats funny is that Horus and Kev are going to try to use this thread against me saying I never give Floyd credit for the Mosley fight, yet, I've continuously said that was a great win for him and that Pac should get LESS credit. They wont quote THAT though.
mosley was a nobody washed up has been when he called out floyd. he could have gotten a floyd fight if he had taken care of business with cotto but he didn't now he has to keep fighting bums like mayorga. floyd will never come out of retirement to face cotto, margarito, or mosley unless they can unfiy 147. no unified champiuon no floyd mayweather jr:boxing:
LOL at Floyd fans always crying that Floyd doesnt get credit for his fights. They go on rampages claiming people were saying Mosley was old when Floyd fought him. Yet, they forget they were the FIRST to say it. Just look at that post.
Jesus, I made that thread 2 years before Floyd stepped in the ring with Mosley. Sad.

the fight doesn't make sense for floyd...shane has losses and doesn't have a big of a fan base as hatton...even though i would've loved to see floyd and shane fight

easy answer. money!
cuz mosley had nothing to offer floyd. mosley had no p4p status nor was he a champ of any kind. when floyd made the offer to mosley a couple of years back, mosley was p4p #1. shane turned that offer down. floyd in no way is a ducker as is perceived. he called a lot of top boxers out early in his career and fighters like cotto and margarito aren't sweating mayweather as much as ppl think.
Fact of the matter is that Floyd did call out Mosley when Shane was P4P but Who was floyd but little puppy barking up the wrong tree? He hadnt proven himself enough and the draw wasnt out there so Mosley tried to make more loot. Then when Mayweather came up and became an elite fighter Shane knows he has a good shot at beating him and for a big pay day but Floyd decided it was his chance to get a bigger payday and he went after Hatton for the easy W to preserve his 0. Its all politics man. Boxing is full of duckers and posers and hypocrits its just that Shane is a Good Fella and Floyd is a prick so who would you rather hate on? simple as that

floyd mayweather is a coward. he did not want to fight the best.
why would he refuse a Hatton fight?
top 10 pound for pound fighter, supposedly in his prime (although in retrospect that may not have been the case), huge fan-base, people (mainly British tabloids, admittedly) were speculating that he had the style to beat Mayweather, he was his mandatory and Mosley was tied up with Cotto at the time
I remember this, basically after the second Vargas fight Mayweather was trying to get 3 fights, Mosley, Hatton and then Spinks. Mosley flatout turned him down and mayweather said some shit like "i want the fight with shane, so let me call up the head of the household, jin mosley"
Hatton said he was going to defend against Oktay urkal and then proceeded to vacate and return to 140. Spinks fight fell through and i think the negative outcry really hurt that fight from happening. Infact, i remember when the fight was made, people were whining that he was ducking carlos baldomir who was fresh off a knockout of arturo gatti. Basically the Spinks fight would have probably been a better, more entertaining fight than the baldomir fight but the negative outcry was too harsh.
Mosley ducked mayweather twice, the first time i understand, since it was high risk/low reward at 135, the second time was in many ways, inexcusable "my tooth hurts" whatever.
Yeah i remember the outcry when PBF was going to fight Spinks at 154 after beating Judah, They accuse him of ducking a real welterweight in baldomir at the time and even brian Kinney was berating Mayweather for not fighting Baldomir..How time changes..Mosley didnt want to fight PBF for whatever reason to him but to try and suggest Mayweather ducked Mosley like the thread starter tries to imply shows he only started following boxing around 2007.
I think Mayweather didnt fight him out of spite, Mayweather was basically begging Mosley for a fight he even called Jin Mosley name's just to get Mosley in the ring but Shane wasnt having it, Now when Mayweather got to the top through oscar Mosley wanted the fight which in turn Mayweather started calling him a sparring partner out of spite.
Anybody that knows boxing would actually know Mayweather didnt duck Mosley

I know mosley didn't duck mayweather, I just think he was told to step aside and let Oscar take the match first. Notice that was a record breaking fight in terms of the money being made. Mosley had a high status, but not the kinda status to interfere with that fight. Oscar is a close friend and is in business with Shane. Not just in business but is practically his boss. He's the owner of the magazine that ranks him, and is the owner of the promotion company that he works for and is also promoted by. Shane was doing his PPV fights raising his status while waiting in line for Floyd, and Floyd decided he was going to wait in turn for Shane to do something big while he took the next big money fight in Hatton.
I dunno these are all just theories and it's like 4am. Got work in the morning, I'm out good talkin to yall peace.
Exactly i couldnt have put it any better.
P.S: Glad I'm not the only one that really wanted to see this fight, and glad I'm not the only one that think these fighters didn't duck each other.. I just feel Floyd takes the business side more importantly than the sport.. but then again you can say the same for a man that lets his boss take the most important fight in any division that's available (although it's highly doubtful that shane would have even been allowed to take the fight in my eyes).
I alway wanted to see the Mosley/PBF fight but ego's got in the way of the fight happening, I dont think Mosley ducked PBF he was just pissed off with the way Mayweather went about it at the time.
