What is the biggest, most significant fight in boxing at the moment? What is the dream fight in all of boxing according to NSB? Is it overrated coward Antonio Margarito against overrated beanpole Paul Williams? Is it overrated feather-fisted windmill merchant Joe Calzaghe versus overrated green Pavlik whose best win was against Gary Lockett? Perhaps it is overrated limey hypejob David Haye who got knocked out by a former super middleweight against an overrated boring hypejob Wladimir Klitschko who got knocked out by a professional golfer?
The point is that on NSB and perhaps elsewhere on the internet there seems to be no worthy challengers. But that's OK because there are no worthy champions either! The amount of effort that goes into discrediting this fighter or that fighter is staggering. If it isn't a fighter who is too inexperienced to be worthy, it's one who is too old to count. If it isn't a one dimensional puncher with no skill it's a feather fisted boxer with no pop.
It's tiresome and boring no matter how much I'm guilty of it myself. It's hard not to get sucked in to the mire of mindless bitching.
I guess it seems that boxingscene.com is to boxing discussion what World of Warcraft is to going on quests. They are both just about the powning.
hahaha, you make a good point.
I think as boxing fans we tend to overanalyze the weaknesses of fighters...cause usually that DOES determine who wins the fight.
also, boxing has quite a history...and fans usually unconciously start comparing the fighters of today with the ATGs...and its hard to look at a fighter in a good light when you compare them to the best of all time, so it ends up coming out negative.
I know I am. For the first year I posted I was completely level-headed. I only later became a shit-stirring, trolling, flaming, asshole.
I haven't noticed these tendencies in you, but I suppose it's about time.
I've done a bit of it in regards to the Klitschkos but beyond that not much... Maybe it's time for an alt who only likes Indian fighters.
Not a lotta unbiased posters on here. Everybody's got an agenda against some fighters they won't give props to no matter who the fuck they beat. Too many cats theat like certain boxers but ain't really boxing fans.
And I have embraced it. I occasionally worry that I'm part of the problem...

could be that a lot of folks who post here just don't appreciate the sport. Possibly a lot of casual observers who rather pop shit at the next man's opinion rather than offer an unbiased critique...also sure that the amount of hyping and bandwagon jumping that goes on breeds contempt. It;s just like when you go to the fights, there are a bunch of cats who don't know much about the sport drunkenly yelling, and screaming nonsense based on anything but an insight of the fight game, along with those who know boxing & the fighters and are yelling instruction to them, sitting next to or standing in front of the people who wish everyone would shut up and let them enjoy the fight...:boxing:
"LULZ Old Man Popkins is teh hundrid yers old LAMO and who Abrham beat, a hyped Marinda who was runnied by pvalik and beet his azz the first time lamo"
Haha. Pretty true. We all know margarito beats all three of them though...he's a true mexican warrior with no regard for human life. Or an unskilled shit talking coward. I forget which.
If and when Pavlik gets thru Hopkins, a Pavlik-Abraham mw 'superfight' would be the biggest fight in boxing. I think everyone would agree in NSB...

I pretty much agree with this statement. You win some and lose some generally...there's an unhealthy level of stuff like that on here sometimes...cotto vs margarito is a good example...it was one of the biggest fights in a while...very anticipated...after all is said and done they're now overrated ducker bum coward quitters or something...kind of confusing. I thought they were at the top of their division.

Very good post. The relentless negativity here is brutal sometimes. Believe it or not, sometimes a good fighter actually loses to a better one, and neither of them are overrated or overhyped. You wouldn't know that reading most of the posts in this forum though.
