Name wise, he brings attention and financially, he bring money...
However he also becomes a cash cow for prime fighters who are still fighting...
instead of top fighters focusing on other prime threats, DLH allows himself to be thrown in the mix...and now vs a fighter who is even pushing limits at 135?
I've always respected DLH, but I would much rather see Pacman vs Valero, Guzman, Hatton, Juan Diaz, Cambell, Casamayor, etc..
It would really suck if they fought and DLH's size causing Manny to never be the same again...just so DLH can walk away saying he always fights the top fighters and Pacman was a top fighter and that's he's not content on retiring be beating the #1 P4P fighter in the world...
As hardcore fans we forget we are in the minority. DLH is in the same position Tyson was a while back, it doesn't matter who he fights, the public see it as a big important fight, involving a great. It's annoying for us, but fights like this are actually what keep boxing popular. The public have no clue about weight divisions, fighters ages, anything, they just know names.
this is true, but keep in mind, DLH's last big PPV event despite being a very big commercial success failed to live up to expectations, as far as the actual fight was concerned.
but considering Manny Pacquiao is the Pound For Pound #1 expect that to be a big driving force behind this upcoming fight.
HBO will tell the public "who cares about size discrepancy it's Oscar vs the best in the world."

Oscar is a great fighter. He is a gold medalist, a future Hall of Famer, & probably has the best resume of his era. But I do wish he would retire or fight. Not do both at the same time.
Ending his career pushin to fight pac is bullshit. DLH don't need more $ so why is he so hell bent on this shit? Fight to win or just stick to makin more millions as a promoter and let real fighters do their job.
agree and disagree
you got to consider that he definitely makes boxing more accesable to casual fans and besides Muhammed Ali is boxing's biggest star ever
and is a pretty good boxer to say the least aswell
When I first started watching boxing it was when DLH's name was flying all over the place. I was like in the 5th grade and had alot of respect for him. He was the 1st boxer I was a fan of BUT now! Fuck Him! I fucking hate him.
I respect him as a fighter. But I cannot understand his seemingy insatiabe thirst for more and more money.
me too, its not like he needs the extra few million from this fight,
he is on his way to becoming a billionaire

completely agree with that
