I willing to take bets now, Hatton is past his prime and showed it against Laczano. Hatton does not have Cotto's power and if Pauli can be slick and fight like Mora did gainst Forrest he wins a decision.

I saw him fight Herman Ngoudjo and this guy was ble to rough him up and make Paulie look really bad. I thought personally the fight was much closer then scored and maybe Paulie lost the fight at the very least he looked terrible against this guy. Hatton will be all over this guy fighting on the inside and going to the body and active. I don't think Paulie can affect him coming in unless he has the jab working all night. His hands are made of glass and maybe he has a fight or 2 left in him. he needs big money fights and this is the first of them. My prediction is Paulie will lose this fight....Hatton by TKO.....
i think that even hatton on the slide, is too strong for paulie and bullies him around, when cotto fought pauli he was weight drained hatton will prob come into the ring alot heavier than paulie and i think its gonna be a good fight but paulie aint got the power to keep hatton off him i think hatton wins UD shud b a good fight tho if paulie is on his A game!
People are beginning to underestimate just how physically strong Hatton is. Malignaggi has very little body strength whatsoever, inside he doesn't know what to do other than flurry with his powderpuff punches. Mayweather was able to tie Hatton up inside and tangle the action in a swarm of arms, elbows and forearms. That's what he's good at. Malignaggi isn't great at tying up, and Hatton is one of the very worst opponents to have if you can't tie up. I think this is the fight where Hatton will prove he still has gas left in the tank. I rate Malignaggi but I think he's going to get worn out.
Good point but I think Pauli fights his best ever after that embarrassing n dou hair debacle. Mali has his best fight and beats hatton not with ease but decisively.
Gotcha... I understand now.
Lazcano is about as far away from how Malignaggi fights. Lazcano relies on physicality and Paulie relies on technique. No one should read too much into the Lazcano fight IMO.
still the logic being used by the original poster states the Lazcano fight as a reason for Hatton being past it . as Lazcano was able to hurt Ricky during there fight.
it's not about Lazcano>Paulie or other way around, Ricky got buzzed and rocked vs Lazcano and doubtful that it happens to Hatton vs Malignaggi
but if were going to use technique, which is a better argument to use .... I really question Malig's ability to be able to box and keep the distance enough to win
granted he can do it . .but for how long? as he dominated the 1st three rounds vs Ngoudjo IMO
highly doubt the above can be done for 6+ rounds vs Ricky Hatton.

I really hope he can pull it off. Hatton annoys me a little. I really think he is just a glorified hack.
We're talking about Malignaggi and you say Hatton annoys you. Have you ever heard Paulie speak?
I did not get my point across right. Pauli needs to stick to his gameplan and fight a smart defensive minded outside type fight and not brawl with Hatton, bad example but I hope this clears it up.

should be a good fight, but that "if Paulie is totally healthy" is a pretty big hypothetical to bank him winning the fight on
as it's just one piece to the puzzle.
sure Hatton didn't look great vs Lazcano but Juan could do something Paulie can't and that's stun/buzz/hurt Ricky.
Paulie has to outbox and win at least 7 rounds or stop Hatton to win the fight. I don't see that happening.

2 things:
1. What does that mean with Paulie fighting like Mora? Mora fought like a pressure fighter against Forrest, while Forrest lost because he didn't play the role of the effective slickster.
2. How often does Paulie stay healthy? He was injured against Ngoudjo and he was injured against N'dou in the rematch. I think that is a big reason why Hatton will win.

I don't think Malignaggi has the power to make Hatton respect him, he gets a little predictable with his movements and he gets hit way more than a guy with his style is supposed to get hit lately. Hatton is has lost a step or two but I think he still has enough to beat Malignaggi.
