I'm not a "Floyd Boy" by any means but I do enjoy the majority of his fights. When people talk about guys who gave Mayweather a good fight, usually the only ones talked about are Castillo & Hernandez... I think Judah did a hell of a job and I think he was the only fighter to ever be on Floyd's level as far as speed is concerned.
The fight was MUCH closer than it was scored. Zab knocked floyd down (his glove hit the ground) when he got rocked with a lightning fast counter. Also Mayweather was well on his way down another time when he hung on to Zabs neck to keep him from falling. Neither of those were scored or recognized. Then to top of it off Zab's lowblow and rabbit punch sealed his fate on the scorecards.
All in all though I think Zab had the right formula that it takes to beat Mayweather. When he fought Castillo the first time he completely didn't look himself. But Zab was really hanging and banging with him unlike anyone I've ever seen.
Does anyone agree with me on this?
Zab vs Floyd was close, Zab vs Clottey wasn't.
Does that say something about Mayweather?
Does that say anything about HATTON?
Side note: Zab vs. Floyd was not close. It was a clear cut decision. Just like Mayweather Hatton wasn't close.

No, not really. Styles make fights. And IMO Zab after Baldomir, Mayweather and Cotto got a hold of him will always be different than Zab before.
I found this to be a very entertaining fight. Everytime i have watched it, i gave Zab the following rounds.
1,2,4,6,12. Zab did alot better than people give him credit for.
That is some pretty deep hate right there.

Really, round 6?
And round 12, even though you could score that for Judah, the fight was over at that point, and Floyd was clearly clowning him. It was a nothing round.
I gave Judah, rounds 2, 4 and 12.

I have to agree with everyone that Floyd did start to take the fight in the later rounds. But it's one of my favorite PBF fights because he was finally matched with someone who could rival his speed.
He couldn't do things against Zab that he did with other opponents. He was getting tagged consistantly when he tried shooting in with his right and Zab is probably the only fighter that I've seen that effectively countered a decent share of Mayweather's offense.
all in all it may not have been as close as Castillo I but I think it was for the most part an action packed fight that didn't follow the same formula as all of Floyd's other fights.
I think the first 4-6 rounds are ok. But after that Floyd fights pretty negative and it gets boring IMO. I like the De La Hoya-Mayweather fight as well. Maybe it's just me :dunno:
Yeah I really didn't enjoy the Oscar fight. It could be that I just really like both guys so tbh I wasn't really rooting for either. I saw somebody describe it as a glorified sparring session on here a while back and I felt that was pretty close to the mark. Put it this way, I certainly did not want to see a rematch.
I don't think it was that close. Mayweather pretty much dominated him after round 4. Judah won 3 rounds maybe 4. Rounds 1,2,4 and maybe 12.
I thought Mayweather could have stopped if not for the low blow and rabbit punch.
That was a relatively easy fight to score.
I'm a pretty big Floyd fan and I don't agree that parts of the Baldomir fight were exciting. I found it boring as fuck tbh. But I agree with what you are saying. When people say he is a boring fighter I pretty much just write them off as morons who have, as you say, pretty much only watched the Baldomir and Oscar fights. I've got his career set and there are several fights on it which I am happy to watch several times. The vast majority of his fights were anything but boring.

Fight wasn't close at all. Zab did well in the opening rounds then got schooled for the last 9 save the 12th round. He should have had points deducted for his cheating tactics, so that cancels out the down Mayweather had.
Further more, Mayweather haters. It's general knowledge that Zab is a wild card, you shouldn't compare fighters based on how they handle the same fighter due to contrasting style but in Zab's case more so as he shows up to every match with a different mentality. With Mayweather he fought on a higher level and was younger. I personally feel Zab would have beaten Cotto had he not recieved the low blow.
Zab Floyd wasn't close. Either way, What does Mayweather say for Ricky Hatton?
,ayweather says that ricky hatton is 5'6 and a terrible fighter at 147 who had trouble with urango.
Mayweather detractors like to cling to the "he's a boring fighter" argument. When challenged to list ALL his 'boring fights', they call out Baldomir and Oscar. That's it.
When, in reality, large portions of the Baldomir fight was pretty entertaining. I can see how a casual fan would be bored by The World Awaits. They were probably looking for the "brutal' beating that Floyd was predicting. In truth, Oscar has never taken a brutal beating. He is just too good for that. And Floyd is too small to be the one to administer it. So, Floyd fought a winning fight.
It's a shame, because 'The World Awaits' was the dog of all of Floyd's biggest fights (Hernandez, Chico, gatti, Judah, hatton). FMJ was pretty dominant and entertaining in all of the other big fights. But recent fans would not know that.

I think it says more about where Zab was at for those two fights. Also, whilst the fight was competitive I wouldn't exactly call it close. Even though you can act like a bit of a tool on occasion I thought you were a bit more knowledgable than to fall into that bullshit of trying to bring down a guy with the skills, resume and accomplishments that Mayweather has.

Definately, i expect Ali to starch Frazier after Foreman just battered him around the ring like that.
Zab won the first 3 rounds of the fight, before Floyd adjusted and completely dominated. I really don't see how that constitutes a "close fight".
Jesus, just look at Zab's face at the time of the low-blow compared to Floyds. He was completely outclassed and dominated, and to suggest anything otherwise, you really don't know boxing at all.
Yep. There seems to be a lot of that going around.

And no, at no point was Floyd hurt. The KD should of counted, but it was a result of Floyd being clearly off-balance. If you watched, Floyd shot in with a righthand and missed, while Zab hit him with a right hook at the same time.
Agreed. But that's too factual for people who like to revise history with an agenda.

One of my favorite fights to watch is PBF vs. Judah because they match up physically so well. When this happens, the contrast in skill level is so much more apparent. It is one of my favorite PBF fights believe it or not.
