okay for those who dunno, the Olympics start tonight with the opening ceremony.
Just wondering if anyone knew the boxing schedule for the Olympics . thanks in advance.
Im kinda amped to see boxing in the Olympics as I usually just watched track and field and basketball
thanks for the articles BostonGuy as they were good reads and I'll certainly be on the look for those 2 guys while watching.
Damn this shit reminds me of the World Cup when it was held in South Korea back in 02. I had to wake up in the middle of the night to catch the games and I would go to work early in the morning so sleepy. I will have to endure two straight weeks of sleepless nights. :boxing:
Your saying I have to be up at 130 am to watch all the boxing...
Guess I'm doin a all nighter.
dude it's not all in the early morning
there's a pretty good stretch of boxing in the 8-9AM range.
amateur boxing has not had any meaning for me since they switched to the point system.
bring back the corrupted judges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
good stuff and good to see as looking at the schedule the Welterweight division isn't shown ridiculously early in the AM or too terribly late at night, and some of the bouts in that weight class might be easier to catch.
Demetrius Andrade
Demetrius Andrade is a welterweight boxer on the 11-man U.S. Olympic Team. Born in 1988, the Providence, Rhode Island native started boxing at age 6. Over time, the lefthander learned to use his long arms to his advantage.
In 2005 he won the gold medal at the Junior Olympic International Invitational and also won the U.S. championship.
Andrade is currently ranked No. 1 among U.S. welterweight boxers. He is coached by his father and David Keefe.
Regarding the Olympics, he says: "I've been thinking about the Olympics since I was 10. It's always been my goal. I'm starting to feel some of the pressure now, but I just focus on staying in top shape and listening to my coaches."
are there any big names? I'll do some searching of my own
but there are 8 US boxers left after Russell failed to make weight.
**any good prospects from any of the other nations that are particularly stand out?
