omg what great find! man he look ok ... look like the beating never happen! lol!
as soon as the blood was rubbed off and the mouthguard taken out at the end of the fight he looked fine
He might be back, but the biggest thing we learned from that fight is that there is quit in Miguel Cotto. When youre in that ring there should be no outside distractions because your life is on the line, and now if hes ever in trouble agains facing pressure is he just going to quit because hes thinking of his family or what?
He didn't quit only because of his family he was thinking of himself, since he wanted health and like he said there will be other great nights for him that just wasn't his night.

I have said it various time, he will learn from this experience and come back with more thirst than before, he will fix a few things and he will be back with a bang. He is still and will always be the champion no matter what happens, he will be back, VIVA PUERTO RICO!!!! And Like he said before:
"We lost 'The Battle'; but not 'The War'!"
- Miguel Cotto
Host: Congratulations papa, to us you're still the champion (:wtf:)
Cotto: Thank you
Host: After many speculations on the radio, tv, written press .. it would be good to hear straight from the champion's mouth .. how are you feeling today?
Cotto: Very good, completely healed from the bruises and swelling and I'm feeling very good, thank god.
Host: So you're all recuperated, nothing with the arm? every thing's in perfect state?
Cotto: Everything is good.
Host: When you were in the ring, I was watching the fight, many things worried me, I was worried when you were getting hit hard and I want to ask you if at any moment did you feel you were losing the fight?
Cotto: The first part of the fight we knew we were winning, but then I began to feel the effect of the punches and started to feel a little worn out, and I realized it's better to have good health, there's more days ahead, I still have many years left in boxing and decided to put a knee down.
Host: Ok, in your case as a boxer and champion I imagine that decision was very hard to make because you're thinking 'I'm the champion with no losses' .. was it you that made the decision or your corner?
Cotto: I was the one that made it, my family was there, my children were present and I was thinking more about them rather than the beating I was getting.
Host: Did you get to see them?
Cotto: Yes I did, a few times.
Host: Really?
Cotto: Yes, there were right next to my corner.
Host: Does it affect ...
Cotto: Well, in this case it did a little but they've always known what my job is and what the risks are.
Host: They are used to it?
Cotto: They're not used to seeing dad in the situation that they saw me a week ago but they know the risks of my job.
Host: You gotta be brave to get up there?
Cotto: Very much, gotta be brave to get up there but it's part of the job, had a bad day but I know many good ones are still ahead.
Host: Miguel being honest, and you always tell it like it is, is it harder to get on the ring or making the decision of putting the knees down?
Cotto: I think in my case it was harder to put a knee down, like you said I didnt have a loss in my record and to lose this way it was difficult for me, but I want health and I want to see my children grow up and that's what matters.
Host: Now that you tell me that it was you that made the decision not your corner, which is very important, did it ever cross your mind all the reactions that would come after your decision? Did you think about that?
Cotto: No it was all for the benefit of me and my family, I could care less about the comments people make.
Host: For example I heard a comment like ... 'he didn't train hard enough to get on the ring'
Cotto: I always train hard before getting on the ring, Margarito was better than me that night.
Host: For this one you even said you trained more than any other fight.
Cotto: Yes, that's how I felt.
Host: Also comments that you were drinking and partying in Las Vegas
Cotto: I *slight stutter* party and have fun but on my time off, Im very responsible with my job, there's two things I'm very responsible with, my job and my family and I don't play around with them.
Host: So what will you be doing now?
Cotto: Im gonna stay doing this..
Host: So it doesn't end here?
Cotto: No, no, no absolutely not, I'm currently 27 years old and I have many years left of good boxing, just need a good rest and we'll see what happens the rest of the year.
Host: And you corner, will there be any changes?
Cotto: No, no, no my corner will stay the way it is, this was not a mistake made by one person, if anyone was at fault , it was the entire team and we are willing to take responsibility for it.
great job!:boxing:
and he still a great champion for me as well...

What can I say? You just don't hear a boxer speak the truth like that after a loss these days. I respected Cotto as a fighter before the fight and respect him even more after his defeat.
I know most of the "haters" out there will be humbled after watching the interview. How can you not respect a fighter like Cotto. If the respect is not there yet, buddy it will be when he decides to come back. I'm looking forward to seeing him fight again. I'm not going to waist my breath about talking Margarito-Cotto II. Not yet at least.....Margarito has a loss to avenge before Cotto avenges his. The welerweight division is alive!

Much respect for Cotto. He admits he was the one that decided to end the fight not his corner. He did it for his family and his health. He also says he was very well prepared for this fight but Margarito was the better man. He made no excuses and says there will be no changes in his corner. He will be back! RESPECT......
