Floyd has 'Pretty boy' , Hopkins has 'Executioner' and basically every other top fighter has a nickname of some sort. All Roy Jones has was 'Junior'.
They should of called the fucker Superman or in his latter days, glass.
Yep. Announcers made reference to that in his more aggressive fights where he went all out and really fucked up his opponent. 'RJ' was supposed to be Roy at his most furious. He never had that on his trunks or anything that I can recall.
The only time he was ever "RJ" was him calling himself that when he beat Montell in the rematch
i thought RJ is his alter ego/nickname.

Also, I guess its kind of funny if u think about it... RJ is probably the only BIG TIME boxer who didnt have a nickname that everybody in the mainstream knew him as.
Miguel Cotto and Cristian Mijares don't have nicknames that people know them by either..
I know there's a couple others out there but I always forget shit when I need to say it and when I don't I remember lol

When we were amateurs many people used to call him "Captain Hook" because of his very sharp left hook. And everybody in Pensacola, even people on the street, call him "Lil' Roy".
Everybody knows his father as Big Roy... even to this day if i speak to someone from there they will say "Yeah, I saw Big Roy the other day..."
He has a nickname ''Junior''
His birth certificate likely says Roy Jones Jr. Now if you are talking about former champion Junior Jones, that's another story.
He didnt need one....qutie simply his nickname was......."And regarded as the best pound for pound fighter in the world" ROY JONES JR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
