Margarito EARNED his fuckin shot. Who was Cotto gonna fight? PW, just got beat and redeemed himself. Cintron lost to Margs. Clottey lost to Margs. Dont come with this bullshit that Cotto GAVE him a shot. There was no one else for him to fight. He HAD to fight Margs. And Margs a Mortal Kombat fatality and took his heart. I agree Margarito earned his shot. There was no one left for Cotto to fight but Margarito. If Cotto would have ducked Margarito, Cotto fans would have never heard the end of it. It was either fight Margarito or look like a scared bitch by ducking him.

Cotto deserves to be respected for his performance. Anyone who discredits him, or insults him for his performance is not a fan of boxing. It was a great fight and a great performance by both fighters.

Cotto put his undefeated record up against "the most avoided man in boxing" and knew full well he could end up getting beat down. But let's not make any claims of Mexican superiority as Margarito DID lose to Daniel Santos. Bottom line? Puerto Rico and Mexico produce great boxers, and great boxers produce great fights. I used to like Margarito till as of late. The fans of his have really ruined him for me. I have a feeling whoever he fights I will be rooting for the other guy just so his fans cry and cry a lot. Cotto had more balls than anyone to take on a fight with a much bigger man. How was the fight? wern't you the one that was worried about going to the fight? Did any fights pop off in the audience?

Cotto defenitely deserves some real respect. He accepted the fight, he fought like a beast, and he accepted his loss and will be back. Some of his fans on here deserve zero respect, but some are and were cool about it.
