Am I the only one who thinks...

I enjoyed watching the Cotto-Margarito fight more due to the epic feeling brought on by the long build up of this fight.

Nah you're proberbly not alone but I prefered Vaz-Marquez III more

It was great

Not in terms of all-out action because Cotto wouldn't brawl with Margo until he couldn't run anymore but in terms of significance it was a bigger fight. After losing most of the early rounds Margarito orchestrated a dramatic rally which brought the fight even after 10 rounds. It's similar to a Rocky Balboa type movie where the underdog brawler takes punishment early but comes back late to overwhelm his opponent which makes for a good story and good press.

because cotto and margarito, are much more popular, and much more talked about, and theoretically much more important in the scheme of things... they have a much bigger following to each of them, and this fight was a huge collission with the hype... on top of that, weve never seen cotto look like he did in that fight, and its a shocking outcome... Great event but Vazquez marquez III, is in fact a better fight... constant back and forth action, neither fighter giving an inch to the other... serious boxing skills displayed by both and unbelievable heart and will.... Ever heard of an opinion? I prefered Cotto-Margarito. I was asking if anyone else agreed :dunno:

those taps sure made margo's head snap back and pause for a moment each time. you know what i mean tho, it wasn't a blazing war, when one fighter backpedals like that its always a boring fight. I don't blame Cotto for doing it, Margarito was too big to trade with but it ruined the spectacle until the later rounds.

Marquez vs Vasquez 3 was a better fight but Cotto vs Margarito was a more exciting fight because of the event and the build up to it.Its not all that often that big ppv fights turn out to be really good like that.Most of the time its just a huge build up then a huge let down or average at best.

Maybe if I saw it live and felt the drama. Knowing the outcome took a lot away I'm sure. Either way it's close imo.

Cotto-Margarito was better than Marquez-Vasquez 3? I know it is all opinions, But i like Cotto-Marg more, I dunno why. Anyone else? Im partial to Vasquez-Marquez, but Margarito isn't far behind. If it comes down to these two for fight of the year I think Cotto-Margs will win it based on the popularity of the welterweight division. If that happens I wouldn't have any complaints. On a side note.....boxing has put together some really great matches the last two years, lets hope the trend continues.

Marq/Vasq was a better fight to the Margarito/cotto fight, Cotto ran from the begining..if it wasnt for Margarito who enforce his plan the fight would have been boring..

ummm i was at both fights!!! I can't pick one over the other...well if you want to just talk about the fight...I can honestly say the marquez/vasquez fight was a better all out war with both fighters taking bombs constantly where you didn't know who was going to win! The margarito fight was just as good but about after the 7th round it wasnt a fight the like the vasquez fight. Margarito was pulling away and started to beat the shit out of cotto. Hands down though the atmosphere in the MGM this past saturday is something i'll never forget!!!!! IT was awesome!!!!!! Just the fight itself though i go with vasquez/marquez being better but as an event, a rivalry, the emotions, the atmosphere the cotto/tony fight was off the hook!!!!

Cotto was the running man and you can thank his brother Floyd for that:bottle:Marq vs Vasq on the other hand was all toe to toe action with no one takeing a step backwards. My god. Can NSB go 1 thread without bringing Floyd up...
