Should he go on hiatus, go straight for the rematch against Margarito, or test his might against Williams, Cintron, or Clottey first? Clearly, fighting the likes of a Gomez doesn't ready you for a hellacious bout.
Ironically some of what hurt Cotto the most was having 36 year old opponents, Judah coming of 2 losses, one NC and 1 year layoff (1 round in between) and Gomez. Had he been fighting Clottey, Cintron (when he was hot) or some people who could at least go at Cotto like Margarito had, he would have learned some effective defense and learned how to fight going back.
I just was frustrated Cotto didn't tie Margarito up more!? IMO In the latter half of the fight Cottos foot work wasn't good enough to back peddle out a danger ! this is when he should of adjusted and tied Margarito up more!?

Hatton has one valuable quality all top fighters have and Cotto needs to learn ASAP, clinching. Even with Cortez all over him he still hold for much of the fight, hit and hold. And on top of that he guy's fast too. Good matchup and one Cotto can possible win but i wouldn't be so sure. Hatton's will come nothing short of Margarito's! Cotto's defense is slipping punches and cover up and retreating when the heat is too much. How's that a good defense? Mayweather can give you a tiny shoulder as a target, can tie you up if you go at him inside and can slip punches WHILE countering (big difference). On second thought, i think this would be a very hard fight for Cotto but he can win yeah.Good post this ,just what i was saying!:You_Rock_
I don't see it...
Hatton ain't a concussive puncher, and was actually beaten on the inside by Mayweather. Cotto would hit to hard, too fast and his defense is also improved. TBH, I just don't see Hatton winning at 147 Unless the Margarito fight has taken something out of him.

Dude, Cotto outboxed and outlanded Tony throughout, he took the lead early on.
Midway through Marg's stamina and workrate started to tell.
By the start of the 11th I had it even.
Cotto never looked like hurting margarito though did he!?
Where Cotto was hurt through out that fight , 2 7 10 11 rounds cotto was allways in danger ! where margarito never was !
do like marg
not seek the rematch with the guy that just seemingly handled him
fight some more fights
then eventually
hell know when hes ready for a rematch
Yeah like i said. Hatton ain't goin to 147 so the fight ain't happening.
Your crazy if you actually think Cotto can still make 140. He was stuggling back when he was the champ there. Let alone now...
catch weight?
I dont know what fight you was watching but Cotto was busted up and wobbled through out that fight ,then stopped!
In that 11th round he looked like a kidd that had took the wrong buss to school!

I didnt say Hatton would win but i think that it might be a closer fight than you think!? just remember Cotto aint as defensive PBF ! And Cotto can be hurt !
I know, I'm just sayin. I honestly don't see it being that close TBH. I think the first few rounds might be though.

Cotto suffered the most damage in the final 2 rounds, up until then the fight was still up for grabs before it was stopped.I dont know what fight you was watching but Cotto was busted up and wobbled through out that fight ,then stopped!

But Cotto aint Mayweather and TBH i dont think Cottos chin/punch resistence aint that clever! !A hatton/Cotto fight might be closer than you think!

Hatton said he is staying away from 147 now. So no way,
Plus. Mayweather KO'd Hatton at 147, What the fuck would Cotto do to him..But Cotto aint Mayweather and TBH i dont think Cottos chin/punch resistence aint that clever! !A hatton/Cotto fight might be closer than you think!
Cottos beating was a far worse defeat than hattons at the hands of PBF !
Better fighters than Cotto have not come back from beatings like that!?
It will be intresting to see how it Affects Cotto!

Take a Vacation
Patch things up with is uncle or get a new trainer
Take out his frustrations on that fat guy from his camp
Make a vow to never take his children to one of his fights ringside
Take a fight against a bum on Telemundo or boxing after dark
That HBO slow mo highlight package was brutal wasn't it? It made Margarito look like a terrible monster. Like some creature that stormed through a village and slaughtered everyone in there.
