Im not so sure, Mayweather would be on defense alot and Marg would not run out of gas so it would be an interesting fight. Not to mention Floyd would most likely not stop Marg with a "check hook". Floyd makes the ring bigger (like he did when he fought Hatton), he'd just dance around him all night, the gangly Mexican would get owned.

I don't think Mayweather would make it close and trade like Cotto did. As much as I like Margarito, I see Mayweather winning 8 rounds to 4 if I am honest about it. I agree with this. I actually think Cotto would be a much tougher fight for Floyd.

Margarito is 5'11 and has a big reach.It wont be easy for Gayweather to hit the guy. Margarito has absolutely no jab; this makes his reach negligible. He also loops his punches, so Mayweather doesn't have to worry about a straight counter when he's coming in to land his straight rights and lead hooks. Why do people assume that Cotto is as fast as Floyd? And when did Cotto become a defensive wizard? Floyd's speed and defense is ridiculous compared to Cotto's, so I don't see why anyone wants to make that "get on his bike" comparison. Floyd would never get into any exchanges in the corner and potshot his way to a HUGE UD. Remember, Margarito can destroy you, but only by accumulation. No one punch he throws can hurt Floyd and Floyd will be out before any combinations land. It won't be a fun fight to watch, but I think Floyd would win easy. Couldn't agree more. Floyd would not likely knock Margarito out, but he'll beat him on points by large margin. Margarito is very slow and can absorb lots of shots. But will likely lose to a much faster fighter.
