yea gotta agree that it wont be much of a factor or at least i dont expect it too. margarito's strength is his power punching and thats most effective at close range which he will try to do to Cotto. if margarito used his jab more effectively it would be a big advantage but he doesnt so yea height wont be much of a factor

I'm a fan of both Cotto and Margarito and I admit Cotto is by far more skilled. (That shouldn't even be up for debate) What Margarito lacks in skill he makes up in grit and balls and this is why I'm goin for Tony on this one.

Cotto is not an inside fighter and I really really doubt he'll be able to keep Marg at bay with a jab or with anything else for that matter.

It will help some. Cotto hasnt faced many really tall guys so it will help in the fact that Margarito will be punching down at him which could give Cotto some problems because it blinds you at times. As for reach, it means nothing because Margarito is a straight brawler. Its not like he's going to try to keep Cotto on the end of his jab. Like George Foreman use to say though, each man has his advantages so it all cancels eachother out. Margarito will be punching down which will help but Cotto is at the perfect height to chop Margarito's body in half which is also why I think the Margarito camp was a little worried about. Actually, I dont think Ive ever seen Margarito take alot of shots to the body. It will be fun to see how he handles it

Case and point Quintana was taller than Cotto and we all know how that one ended wink wink Margarito doesn't fight small. I mean Quintanna bends at the knees a lot more then Margarito does. ----------------------- Theres a reason Margarito looks so much taller then his opponets in the ring. And its because he fights tall and uses his height. Margarito will do both in that he'll box and fight. Imo, if Cotto boxes he gets picked apart by Margarito cause his timing and accurace is very under-rated. If Cotto choses to fight on the inside Cotto can also be the underdog in this as Margarito loves an inside war and his in fighting is way under rated too. Margarito going to take this and people will understand why i say he is under rated.

Only helps if Margarito is a boxer/mover which he isnt, He would give away his height advantage when he starts to brawl.

I don't think it will help him simply because of his style, He can't use it to his advantage and outbox Cotto like Williams did to him.

It means there is more body for Cotto to hit. Longer reach makes it harder to get there.. Pros and cons to it really.
