I agree that he could've given more... he may have thought he was well in the lead and could coast the last round... maybe some of those huge shots from Lacy made him forget the earlier rounds he lost.
Maybe that was the reason but whatever the reason was, it cost him the fight on my card and cost him a draw on one of the official cards.
They were tired but I think Mendoza was capable of more than just holding on.

I thought Mendoza gave the fight away in the last round, he just wanted to make it through the round, cost him the fight.
Both of those guys were totally gassed.
7 rounds to 3 is not that bad it is not my score card but that is only 1 round different from 6-4 and i have no idea what angle that guy had.
6 to 4 with a 10-8 round in 8th for Mendoza, so 95-94 for Lacy
The referee was protecting the Golden Boy fighter the entire fight. He gave Mendoza constant warnings, but not even one for Lacy, even after he deliberately tackled Mendoza to avoid being KO'd. Lacy also showed no class after the fight trying to act like he dominated. I hope HBO doesn't try to sell us a Taylor-Lacy fight. That would be a really bad mismatch.
I thought the tackle should have warranted a point deduction.
A draw would have been fair. If I had to pick a winner then it would have been Mendoza.
